Im Tanera Moor ist es schwer zu entscheiden, was schöner ist - der Wald oder der Meerblick. Dieses Strandhaus ist stilvoll eingerichtet und bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick über eine kleine Flussmündung in die Bucht. Das Haus verfügt über einen offenen Grundriss für einfache Unterhaltung. Sehen Sie beim Kochen, Lesen oder Entspannen verschiedene Wildtiere wie Reiher, Schwäne, Fischadler, Weißkopfseeadler und Pelikane. Sechs Fahrräder, die mit dem Verleih kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt werden, ermöglichen eine schnelle Fahrt zum anderthalb Häuserblocks entfernten Strand. Oder schlendern Sie mit der Strandtasche in der Hand zu Fuß zum privaten Sandstrand.

Sobald Sie den Strand erreicht haben, warten 2 Kajaks auf Sie - ohne zusätzliche Kosten, um die Chesapeake Bay oder eine der vielen nahe gelegenen Bäche mit Vögeln und einheimischen Gräsern zu erkunden. Kajak oder Fahrrad - hier ist die Welt Ihre Auster.

Eine kurze Radtour entfernt befindet sich der Point Lookout State Park, ein Ort des Bürgerkriegs. DOG TRIP

Awesome house. Loved the nature around us. Comfortable “lived in “ style. Great for me and the pooch. She LOVED the small screened in front porch. I had a praying mantis in my Kitchen window first two days. Little frogs ALL OVER the windows.. (so cool) Nice short walk to private beach. Great stay! My goal is to try all Peggie’s properties.. two down!! Thanks again!!

The house was quaint and comfortable. We appreciated that linens were supplied and bikes and kayaks too. This was a very nice place to enjoy peace and quiet, we had the beach to ourselves every day even though it was August!

Dirty with cockroaches

The house was really filthy--inside and out. This included (but unfortunately wasn't limited to): animal hair all over the furniture, the dining table had crumbs all over it and smelled terrible (like bad milk) because it couldn't be properly cleaned (the rough, wooden surface wasn't sealed), dead bugs in every room, the screened porch was unusable because the furniture and floor were covered in a thick layer of pollen, and the back yard patio was unusable because it wasn't clean and there were carpenter bees. Given that I traveled with my husband, two small children, and mother-in-law who flew in from out-of-state, we were all incredibly disappointed, but decided to tough it out because our kids were so excited about going to the beach and we felt like we had no other option. On top of that, on the first evening there we saw a cockroach. By the end of the visit (4 nights), we saw and killed at least 20 cockroaches. We liked the house...just not the state that it was in. I've stayed at a lot of VRBO properties, and I've never been in a situation like this, so I was in shock and wasn't sure how to proceed. Looking back, we should have contacted the managing company immediately. However, I'm not really sure how this could have been remedied during our stay. Given that we brought a pet bird and two small children with us, we did not want them exposed to roach treatments and didn't want people in the house cleaning it while we were in it (it rained a lot when we first got there). We did contact the manager of the property after we vacated, and the response was also disappointing. While we did appreciate their offer to stay another weekend at one of their other properties, we couldn't stomach going to another place that may be handled in a similar manner. We're also not sure how the house could have been in this state--it was not suitable for guests, so it's hard to trust that any of their properties would be acceptable upon return. Instead of the offered weekend, we informed the manager that we would prefer two of our days refunded, but unfortunately the manager has now been unresponsive. There were some other minor issues as well, but they all paled in comparison with what I've already listed. The house is actually quite nice; it just isn't maintained. The location is also nice as is the beach; we spent as much time on the beach as possible.

Family stay - 3 generations

We were 6 family members - one in wheelchair and one 3 years old. House is comfortable. Not on the Bay, but 300 yard walk to a nice small beach. Beach and light surf great for 3 year old. Could manage wheelchair both in house - entry stairs most challenging, but with 3 steps, doable - and at the beach - able to roll the standard wheelchair on the sand backwards to get to where we set up. No cellphone service (good thing), but good Wi-Fi (also a good thing). Comfortable beds; nice kitchen. Furniture a bit odd, but works. Nice week for all of us. Recommend.

Tranquil views, charming home

We had a fantastic experience and highly recommend the property. Everything was as promised. Clean and comfortable for our group of four, with enough extra chairs to accommodate visitors who joined our BBQ. The restaurant recommendations were on point. We’ve stayed at many other VRBO and Airbnb properties, and I’m used to having more direct communication with the hosts, vs. automatic messages. But there were no issues.

Great Location, Quiet and Lovely Home

We very much enjoyed our get-away for the weekend, even if it was rainy most of the time. We have stayed at other Scotland Yard Rental properties, so knew what to expect in location and type of house. It was a very pleasant stay with enough room (and TVs, there are like five of them), comfortable beds and nicely designed. If you are planning on cooking meals at the house there are basic pots, pans and other implements, but doing it again at this location I would probably bring some of mine own supplies, such as larger non-stick pan, another pot, good knives, etc. Also note that the house has limited condiments, so plan on brining oil, salt, pepper, etc. We came on a late Feb weekend, and the house was a bit musty, but that disappeared quickly and the cleaning job was 85% (coffee still in the coffee maker, no more dishwasher detergent, and little things like that.) That is not a complaint, and as any reasonable house guest very easy to fix.

We had a great stay at this property. The location is perfect and the house is recently renovated. However, it was very cold and the bedding was sparse. It took 2 days for the house to warm up from the heater.

Pleasant spot for a waterside getaway

This was a lovely waterside spot a relatively short drive from DC. Very quiet location only a short drive from stores, restaurants and local area attractions. The house was well appointed with everything we needed for working from home and the holiday week. Only suggestions would be for a welcome note or info in the house to provide details about beach access, trash collection procedure, clean up for check out etc. It would also have been useful to know in advance that the washer and dryer were unavailable. There was no note- just a locked cupboard.

Social Distancing Family Getaway

This property was so cozy for our family of 4 plus dog. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the outstanding view of the water. Our boys loved playing in the backyard and running up and down the lane. We enjoyed walking to the beach and spending time there playing football, finding sea glass, and spotting blue crabs and other marine life. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy our meals together. The dining table is great to sit around for meals as well as playing board games. The screened in porch, bicycles and kayaks are great amenities! And the proximity to Point Lookout State Park is also a plus!

Relaxing getaway

This is a great place to go if you want privacy & relaxation. The property manager even made sure there was a firepit available for us when we arrived! The one thing that we would have to mention is we left a day early because there was something making a noise on the roof at night which made it difficult to sleep. The beach was our family's favorite along with the kayaking.

Serene and beautiful

If you’re looking for quiet and calm, this is the place. We loved relaxing at the private beach, taking walks with our dog in the evening, exploring Point Lookout State Park on the bikes, and spotting herons while kayaking in the bay. The house had everything we needed and then some, we would highly recommend!

Great stay!

I was anxious about how this trip was going to turn out since we had never rented a vacation home in the past. I worried needlessly. This house did not disappoint. The location is perfect, the size of the house is perfect, everything in the house is perfect. This trip was all about bringing family and friends together from around the country to celebrate our daughter's graduation with her masters degree. We had plenty of room to gather in this house and everything we needed to make yummy meals and sit around and visit. Everyone complimented the house. I had brought everything I thought we needed but I was pleasantly surprised at what was already in the house. We were also pleased that our furbabies were welcome at this house. It was a perfect trip!! We hope to visit again and our friends walked around and picked out houses they would like to visit. Thank you for making our celebration wonderful.

Tanera Moor was a perfect getaway home. We stayed for three nights. The home is both stylish and cozy. The kitchen is fantastic. We cooked elaborate dinners. The view is stunning. We loved walking to the beach, and going for a little mid-winter kayak.
