don't do it

Initial reaction OMG you have got to be kidding me We paid for this? Mold and mildew in bathroom, holes in closet walls, water stains on ceiling, disgusting deck mold and rot, wont even talk about what they call a grill. After less than ten minutes in house I could barely breathe from the mustiness. We had to abandon our plans to visit Nashville and left property after 10 min. Thanks for nothing. Took pictures and the person from VRBO who took my call was very professional and responsive after she received pictures. Got a full refund and I refused to speak owner. Also found out that the pictures for the listing were taken in 2017. Owner might want to consider updating. Should not be accepted by VRBO

Water leaks, musty smell, hard to breathe,

The location was okay and accurately described. On a non moving creek. Or at least not while we were there. That was perfectly fine. Once in the property, the furniture was dated and somewhat in disrepair, Which we could have lived with. The problem was was that it was musty from water leaks. You could actually see the water stains in the ceiling and I have pictures of them. As well as part of a weed or tree roots growing in between the wall of the first floor and the basement, Possibly through the window frame. The smoke detectors were actually taken down from the ceiling and laying on furniture. We actually had booked a two day stay and had to leave when we woke up. All of us were having breathing issues. We had gone to concert immediately after checking in Otherwise we would have left immediately. The property representative was not responding to any messages. Messages started to her over thirty six hours ago and no response. Some people do not have a problem with black mold But most do. I would not recommend this to most people. I wish I could attach pictures I have plenty.

Family Friendly Relaxation

Great experience, absolutely recommend this rental for anyone who wants to be near big cities without being in them. About 30 min from downtown Nashville, some roads aren't named properly in Google Maps or Waze, but if you follow your map this place is super easy to find. Excellent fishing, either off the dock, boat, or any of the riverbanks. Minor Cons: No in-unit laundry Somewhat dodgy plumbing, though everything acted normally most of the time. Entrance door handle seems to be installed oddly. Access security somewhat of a risk, mitigated by remote location.

Lovely river retreat.

My family enjoyed the entire place. Spacious and clean, a huge deck, fire pit and dock. We used it all. Fishing and smores were a hit. The hosts were very accommodating and easy to work with. All around great stay.

River retreat

We had gorgeous weather all week. The owner provided kayaks, a paddle boat, and a canoe and we did it all! We also swam. We grilled out every night and ate on the back porch/deck. Also used the fire pit on a chilly day.

Relaxing and Cozy

This property is just as advertized - a rustic cabin lake house hybrid with friendly and accommodating hosts. If I travel to Nashville again I will stay here. Great for kids but if they are under 3 they will need extra supervision due to the waterfront and house setup. The highlight was the shaded back porch overlooking the creek.

Weekend Getaway

Everything was great for our stay! It was cold but that was just bad timing! We used the rental to hangout and play games, and of course sleep. Great hiking trails nearby and close to Nashville for one day/night of the nightlife. The accommodations were great! The owners upstairs were kind, and even when we couldn’t figure out the fireplace, they came down to help! It is springtime and the kitchen cabinets could use some cleaning from winter guests, but the house overall was clean and very comfortable. The previous tenants left a ton of stuff in the fridge, so we just threw it out prior to putting our groceries away. I would defiantly bring everything you need for cooking and staying such as toilet paper and cookware. The pots and pans were nice and clean, but no baking items for a morning egg bake! That’s ok, we changed our breakfast plan! Overall a great outdoorsy stay. Clean and comfortable beds.

Amazing experience

It was a very laid back environment, it was very kid friendly and adult friendly. The communication was great and right away If there was any questions or comments! The owners were so kind to the children and us. We absolutely loved our time here! Very cozy and homey setting and it’s not far from the city so we got a taste of both country and city life. Very nice place and people, will be staying again!

Bowl Game Visit

We visited to attend the Music City Bowl and loved the remote location by the river. It was no trouble to head to Nashville as desired. Roomy accommodations; very enjoyable. We had unseasonably nice weather and really enjoyed the deck.

Within minutes of "checking in, I discovered a dead roach in the fridge and a live one crawled across the kitchen counter when I went to grab a drink and I killed it. The next morning, I opened the fridge to get cream for my coffee and saw a second dead roach that I hadn't noticed the night before. I didn't want to prepare food in this kitchen so I showered and left to go get something to eat and to sight-see in Nashville. Before I left, I texted the owner at the number they left on the table to contact them at; I informed her that I'd had three different roach encounters and to call me so we could work something out. She never responded. I got back around 9pm from Nashville and as I was considering contacting VRBO, a roach once again crawled across the kitchen. This time, I killed it and recorded it. I contacted vrbo and they gave me a case # and asked the owner to consider giving me a refund. The owner emailed vrbo back and said that they would not give a refund, that I had never contacted them, and insinuated that I’m some city guy that doesn’t understand wild life and the outdoors. I grew up in the country. I live in a town of 4K ppl on the Mississippi River. COCKROACHES ARE NOT WILDERNESS, THEY ARE A SIGN THAT YOU NEED TO CLEAN YOUR KITCHEN. On top of all of this, the place has a musky smell to. There appears to be one coat of paint on the walls as they’re splotchy and you can see primer here and there, there’s all sorts of dents and dings in the walls, the bedroom had no dresser, just a shelf that was drooping and held up with wire and various gaps inbetween the baseboards and walls. All of that is one thing, but roaches are another. Vrbo is not being terribly helpful and I have disputed the payment with my credit card company. If anyone wants to see the pictures or videos I took, contact me here as for some reason, there doesn’t appear to be an option to upload them for reviews

Great Getaway

Super nice place with a fireplace, right on the water with kayaks and a canoe. Found some trails around to hike and just enjoyed getting away. Owners were awesome as they rapidly accommodated us after another property owner screwed us over.

Cleanliness poor and quality poor

The house was cleaned fine however this house was crawling in bugs I mean absolutely crawling. The bunk bed was in poor shape enough to when someone on top bunk would move it shook the entire bed badly causing anyone in the bed to be woken up needless to say the two people that slept on it didn’t sleep nearly like they should have for paying money to stay also those mattresses on the bunk are awful long uncomfortable and the blankets with the bunk are not real comforters they are not much more than a bed sheet. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again for the quality of rest we got we should have paid half of what we did

Super Relaxing

My husband and I wanted a getaway from our day to day stuff and this was the perfect place to do that. Just a short drive into Ashland City for groceries and we were set. Highly recommend this rental.

Stay-cay Getaway

We wanted to be near the city but allow our father who loves to fish a chance to fish all day. This was the perfect compromise. Easy quick ride to get into the city. The hosts were easily accessible. Unfortunately the refrigerator was an issue and all our plans to stay in away from Covid by cooking were derailed. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Quiet spot on the river!

Great location for a quiet weekend out in the country, but only a short drive to Nashville. We were not a fan of downtown Nashville. This home was more of our style. Quiet location away from the hustle and bustle. There's also a great rail to trail system within a mile of the house.

Absolutely Awesome

This place was a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of Nashville!!! Ashland city, is only a few minutes away and has everything you could need. The property managers never bothered us, they were very welcoming and accommodating!!! We stayed a week and had an amazing time at the river out back, the porch and fire pit, visiting Music City and the Nashville shores water park. Thanks, for helping us to make more amazing family memories.
