My family of four stayed for 4 days and 3 nights over Christmas to celebrate my mother’s birthday. We booked two rooms, which happened to be connected upon arrival. Unfortunately, the shower in one of the rooms was not working.
I reported the issue that evening to the butler and then the front desk. Maintenance came to inspect the shower but left without any update. After following up later that night, I was told the issue couldn’t be fixed and was offered a room change. I requested that both rooms be switched so our family could stay together, but was told this required supervisor approval the next day.
The following morning, we were assured the room change was confirmed and were asked to pack and wait in the lounge. After over an hour packing and another 45 minutes waiting, the supervisor insisted on inspecting the room herself and then told us we could stay and that maintenance would try to fix the shower after all.
This showed a serious lack of communication and wasted our first night and half of the next day. Compensation was offered in the form of spa services, but the next available appointment was after our departure.
This experience fell far below any 5-star standard. Poor communication and inefficiency made this stay extremely frustrating. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.
