Beautiful quiet retreat

A lovely setting among tall pines, a beautiful comfortable house with amazing light and art. Everything you need for a relaxing, restorative time. We stay at a lot of VRBOs, and this was the best by far.

Peaceful

We came here as a getaway after the passing of my husband. It was a wonderful setting for the children and I to just check out mentally and relax. Loved the location and the amenities. Highly recommend this property if you need a place to clear your mind.

Beautiful peaceful retreat

This house is gorgeous. It's a really lovely setting in the trees just above the lake. The house is really lovingly and uniquely decorated. The beds were very comfortable. The house is nice and quiet and you can sleep with the windows open and get fresh air. All the amenities were present and easy to use - coffee maker and laundry facilities worked great. I would love to stay there again!

54th Anniversary Trip

Absolutely loved everything about this property. It was such a pleasant stay in a perfect setting: enjoyable outdoors views and indoors windows were most loved by me. Thanks to the property owners and all who helped make this an ideal few days for Jim and me as we celebrated our 54th! We did not see the owners but I am sure they would have been delightful. They get an automatic rating of five stars.

Lovely Retreat

This property was easy to rent and when we had a couple of small issues they were addressed quickly. The location is stunning and fairly remote. Cell service was not available on property. The kitchen needs additional pans, dishes, glasses, and utensils. New chairs and a better set up for the television would make this location a 5 instead of a 4.

We really enjoyed our say here during a recent trip to the Coeur d'Alene area for a few days of biking. The house was beautiful, and the location was excellent in providing a serene and relaxing environment for getting away. The lower deck platform was a perfect spot for sitting and enjoying the view of the lake! Easy access to the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes biking trail at nearby Harrison was also a definite plus. There are a few things, however, that could easily be done with the property to enhance the experience of future renters. First and foremost, there are currently no good seating options in the living room. The two existing twin beds and wooden chairs are just not comfortable for sitting. Perhaps replace the beds with a sleeper sofa and/or the wooden chairs with some type of upholstered chairs? Second, as has been mentioned in a few previous reviews, the kitchen could be better stocked with cooking and eating utensils. A few more cooking pans, plates, bowls and silverware would be helpful. Third, a bit more attention to detail is needed. We noticed burned-out lightbulbs, a missing smoke alarm in the central living area and a broken dishwasher door. Lastly, although at first glance the overall cleanliness seemed good, upon closer inspection the house appears to be in need of a thorough deep cleaning. While these comments may be taken as "nit-picky," we feel that it is a beautiful house that appears to have become a bit neglected. It just needs a bit more love.

Lovely, with one concern

Our stay was wonderful & we appreciated all the little touches you made for our comfort - but you overlook one BIG problem. There are 2 large Hindu god statues on either side of the bed; along with another one in the living room. These are often accompanied by demonic presence(s). Having experienced this before, I travel with Catholic Holy Sacramental objects and prayers; and was able to banish any demonic creatures from your house. Thereafter we had a peaceful stay. But our daughter refused to stay there. She has seen people become possessed by a demon (and need a Catholic priest for exorcism) - and so she is very nervous about such things. I assume you (like most people) are unaware of all this; and so I wanted to let you know. But I would still recommend you get rid of those statues. Demons return to where they are displayed & welcomed; and (speaking from experience) to be awakened by one in the middle of the night can be a terrifying experience. Beautiful space and location, but wouldn't recommend.

My wife and I were very excited to spend our wedding anniversary at Selby Knoll Guesthouse. When we arrived we thought the location was remote and beautiful. We loved all with windows in the guesthouse! When we arrived my wife went to take a bath in the advertised 100 yr old clawfoot tub and was surprised to see that it wasn't there. However the replacement tub was large and inviting. When we went to fill the tub the water was yellow. Very yellow. I suspect it was just iron in the water but my wife was concerned. We emailed the address we were give for problems and no one ever answered. So, no long hot baths for us! We purchased bottled water to drink and cook with. I highly recommend that if this is normal that you address it in your listing so people know. When we went to cook a meal we found 2 frying pans, both teflon pans were severely damaged and scratched and both were dirty, as in dried food on the edges on one. It isn't safe to cook in teflon when there are deep scraps and scratches in the pans. Then we discovered ants. Mostly in the kitchen and near the twin beds in the living room. These things combined really put a damper on our getaway. It's a shame because like I said the location is very beautiful.

Serenity Cabin

The Japanese art collection was the first indication of a purposeful relaxed space. The inflatable moose over the refrigerator deflated any thoughts of pretentiousness. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time there. We saw our first wild turkey up close, strutting right past us like he didn’t have a care about the impending November holiday. Also a mother and baby deer rested just a few yards from one of the many windows. If you are seeking solace or writing your first novel, this is the place for you.

Gorgeous home

This is a beautiful guest house furnished with lovely treasures. The home had everything we needed for a great stay. Be aware that it is an hour from Coeur D’Alene. If you want to enjoy the lake and feel like you are staying in a lovely home in the forest, you will enjoy this place.
