I have everything I needed for a short stay.

Our second stay at the Bristol Grand Hotel and it wasn't as good as the first time. Check-in was smooth and quick, but then the issues started with there only being one working lift to take us to the 3rd floor. Once we opened the door to our room, it was spacious, but there was a distinctive cigarette smoke smell. Since we arrived late, we decided to stay in the room and not go down and change. The bathroom was okay, but we didn't have any shower gel. The refillable bottle wasn't filled, but luckily we carry our own anyway. The hotel had an anime convention on during our stay and because of that the lift ended up being used all the time, so we had to use the stairs quite often.

Erstklassig!

The breakfast is much worse than it used to be. For instance, under the guise of sustainability, fried eggs are no longer available, nor are the fried potato wedges. Even the individual jars of jam have been replaced by jam dispensed from something resembling a soap dispenser. This does not suit the hotel's ambiance. I was disappointed with the breakfast; it is obvious that they are trying to cut costs and using sustainability as the justification.

Beautiful centuries-old property, yet extraordinarily well-renovated and with all modern comforts. Situated in its own quiet grounds, Old Church Farm provided us with a lovely night's rest after a long day of travel. We would definitely visit again.
