„Classy Hotel in an 18th Century Georgian architectural landmark which was saved by the Hotel Company. Went there first on a rushed business trip and went back half a year later to enjoy it finally with my partner. The pool is warm and not exactly for a sporty swimmer, but is nice with the opportunity to swim outdoors. Beds and Breakfast are excellent and up to the price. After finding the south of England more and more crowded, the Peak District is an area I was happy to discover.“

„Es ist ein tolles Hotel, das meinen Ansprüchen gerecht wird. Die Zimmer sind nur ein wenig müde. Alles funktionierte und war sauber, aber das Dekor und die Einrichtung sind in die Jahre gekommen. Das Frühstück war gut und im Vergleich zu dem, was man im Stadtzentrum bekommt, recht günstig.“

„Frühstück nur von 8 bis 10. Sehr dunkler Flur um in sein Zimmer zu kommen. Es war an dem Wochenende eine Hochzeit im Hotel, was uns vorher nicht mitgeteilt wurde, daher die ganze Nacht sehr laut. Plus ein Fehlfeueralarm in der Nacht. Es gab dazu keine Entschuldigung von der Rezeption und daher kann ich insgesamt dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen.“

„We stayed for one night and had a wonderful time. The room was spacious and well equipped. Everything has been very tidy. The mattrass was kind of a dream. The breakfast has been absolute delicious. Would love to come back again. The location is perfect. Directly in the center and within all of the historic buildings.“

„Wir hatten deutlich mehr von der Unterkunft erwartet. Der Gang von der Rezeption bis zum Zimmer war extrem verwinkelt und ging durch 7 Türen. Das Bad war sauber aber alt. Zimmer groß genug, Einrichtung ok. Man konnte zwar im hinteren Teil Parken, in unserem Fall direkt am Zimmer, aber leider war der Zugang von hinten nur mit einer Karte möglich, diese haben wir aber nicht bekommen. Der Empfang/Rezeption war nicht gut, der Herr sprach sehr schnell seinen Standardtext runter, davon hab ich nur die ...

„Nice clean hotel with a nice ambiance. We only stayed one night as easy walk to town to see the boat illuminations which was perfect. We had a room at the top floor. Compact but practical for the price and one night. “

„The hotel had lots of character. We couldnt fault the room. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The little touches like fresh milk and drinks in the fridge on arrival. Packed lunch every mornimg of our stay. Ideal location for exploring. The pianist in the restaurant in the evening was lovely.The food was very good.“

„This hotel is very well appointed and in a great location for Hathersage and the surrounding areas for walks. The rooms were fabulous and very well equipped with coffee pod machine and lovely luxury toiletries. The breakfast was superb. We had the best stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to revisit. “

„What a fabulous place to stay. Superb location, extremely polite staff. We both enjoyed a lovely evening meal together and the breakfast was the best in along time which is local sourced. The room was fantastic with a view to remember- rolling countryside. Highly recommended and will come stay again “

„Schon das zweite mal da gewesen und ist einfach nur super und empfehlenswert. Die Mitarbeiter sind so nett, die Zimmer sind sauber und haben eine gute Größe. Das Essen ist 1A, ich liebe englisches Frühstück und zum Mittag oder Abendessen findet man auch nur tolle Sachen.“

"In meinem Zimmer war ein neues Bad, aber der Rest des Hotel war doch sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Was an sich nicht schlimm ist, wenn es dann sauber und gepflegt ist. In meinem Flur roch es sehr unangenehm. Das Frühstück war ok aber nicht jetzt keine tolle Qualität oder besonders lecker. Eine Kollegin hatte ein altes Bad und Schimmel in diesem. Auf die freundliche Frage, ob sie ein anderes bekommen könnte wurde recht unfreundlich geantwortet, dass es nicht möglich ist. Sehr schade, da das Haus an sich wirklich schön ist. "
