Due to storms, all the roads leading to Tahoe were shut down for the first three days of our reservation, and even Northstar Lodge reached out to us and advised us not to come, in fact they didn’t give us check in instructions until the fourth day. When we called read online, the management company, not only did they not know about the storms or that we weren’t able to check in, but they refused to believe us and took three days to get back to us. By then we had missed the first three days of our stay and had had communication from the lodge directly advising us not to come, but red awning was the last to know. They refused to refund us and have offered us a credit for the same unit despite the fact that the unit is completely booked up. We are property owners ourselves and often times list our vacation rental, but this was the worst experience as guests we have ever had.
