Former bakery completely renovated into a "sweet retreat" for your visit to La Grange, the Kindness Capital of Kentucky! Just steps from the only railroad that still runs down an active Main Street. Wheelchair accessible—two bedrooms, two tiled baths, sleeps 6. Historic Downtown La Grange boasts unique shops, restaurants, a train viewing tower with over 30 trains/day, parks and the Alley Loop (a fun interactive art walk). Nearby horse farms, Churchill Downs, Bourbon Trail, 20 mins to Louisville.

Enter into a well decorated kitchen and dining area, with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms that can be closed off for extra privacy. You'll find peace and quiet in this property, despite being on a main thoroughfare to our small town. You are right in the heart of Historic Downtown, walking distance to the famous Red Pepper Deli, One Nineteen West Main southern faire, train viewing tower, Railroad Museum, Springs Park, Farmer's Market, Ernesto's Mexican, antique shops and more.

You'll really enjoy all of the new furniture and decor—instantly brightens your day when you see the fresh and comfortable setting! Trendy mid-century modern accents, luxury linens and cozy details.

Master bedroom features a queen size bed, two nightstands and dresser. Design was created with wheelchairs in mind, for easy access to each room and transfer to the lower set bed. Every bed is adorned with plenty of pillows, in a variety of plushness for your choosing. The master has a full set of each: fiber-filled, memory foam and down pillows.

White tiled baths are bright and clean, each featuring a full shower with glass doors, toilet and marble vanities. You will have access to oversized white bath towels, toiletries and the comforts of home. Linens are provided for 6 people, with two full sets for each bath. Bathrooms offer shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, makeup remover towelettes, hand/body cream and Kleenex.

Second bedroom is located off a separate hallway with the option to close-off. If you have kiddos you don't want to disturb, you can close the door to this bed/bath for early bedtimes or naps. Bedroom has two twin bunks, a full dresser and boho chic accents. The Sweet Retreat also has a pack & play portable crib, with crib sheet, available for your use.

The family room features an upgraded and comfortable queen size pull out bed. A full set of linens and pillows are included for your use. Overall, the property can sleep 6 in beds, plus the portable crib. The Sweet Retreat will allow families or parties of up to 8 in the property.

You will be able to enter this property through an ADA accessible ramp, or a set of stairs, with convenient parking. Parking lot has room for an RV or oversize vehicle. Front door is 36" wide, and interior doors are 32-36". Front deck has two rockers for sitting and watching the world pass by, as well as a wonderful fire table. Propane is supplied for the fire table.

Just one block away is Historic Main Street, where over 30 trains will pass each day. You can stroll the shops and restaurants, and return back to the Sweet Retreat for your rest and restoration. The Sweet Retreat is exactly 30 minutes from Churchill Downs, home of the Derby. Louisville Slugger Museum, Kentucky Science Center, Muhammad Ali Center, Kentucky Arts & Crafts Museum, Museum Row, Whiskey Row and Market Street of Louisville are all 20-25 minutes away. Horse farms in Oldham County are just a few minutes from the Sweet Retreat.
