Panoramic Loft with Deck, Private Trails and Creek

This decadent home away from home is a beautifully furnished private 1 bedroom dream located minutes from the center of Topanga, California. It features breathtaking views from a spacious private open air deck, a freshly renovated kitchen with large picture windows to gaze at the mountains, full bath with soaking tub and new furniture throughout. Additionally, there are lovely private trails and creeks on the 13 acre property for you to explore stunning canyon scenes.

You will be nestled in a 13 acre mountain village with other cottages, forests and mountain views.

Visiting this property is a very unique experience, some describe it as “glamorous camping”. No photoshoots, parties or cats allowed. Please read the full description, disclaimer, and reviews, to make sure this is what you are looking for.

DISCLAIMER: This is quite different from staying in an ordinary hotel. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your party will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional.

Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - wifi - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. Most people are charmed by this idyllic and bohemian lifestyle - but it's not for everyone.

The check in process was really easy, it can be hard to find the right bridge (especially at night). Wi-fi worked well for texting but you won’t be able to make any calls. We could use face-time. Kitchen had a toaster oven and microwave. There was also a grill you can use. Bed was comfortable! The people there were very helpful and the hiking trails were awesome! There were quite a few people staying in places in the property but it felt very private!

Such an awesome spot for a weekend getaway! Incredible views on the deck! Loved the natural light in the kitchen and the surrounding area. Definitely recommend an SUV to get there.

This location and the atmosphere around the property made this trip quickly jump in my top 2 all time favorite and I travel for work often. I would definitely plan a family trip just to come back to this property.

Nice unit that is part of a communal living property

The unit was nice and in a beautiful area. However, the listing doesn’t accurately describe the property. The unit is part of a multi-structure building that appears to have some other vacation/temporary rentals and full-time residents. The building is on what appears to be part of a communal living property with a variety of housing and community structures on it. I’m down with communal housing but would have appreciated that being disclosed in the listing.It’s very peaceful in the morning. The residents are more active in the afternoons. The trail is nice with spots to rest and take in the views. The road in is unpaved and very rough. I was in a high clearance van and did ok, but I would not attempt the drive in a low clearance vehicle (though some of the permanent residents did). The unit was reasonably clean and nicely decorated, but it could use a deep clean and I found ticks in the rug.

Tranquility Near The City

Beautiful location nestled in the mountains with just a short drive to the city. We brought a small dog and used the private trail for walks. We used our own prepared meals from a local meal prep shop so we could just heat them up and didn’t need to leave the home. Less than 10 minutes to the highway. Nearby convenience store and restaurants for all needs. The energy of the place is spectacular. It is simple and exactly what we needed. Thank you and blessings.
