Black Pearl - Lake Placid, Mirror Lake

Summary:
Welcome to Black Pearl! This house has two separate apartment units that make up the entire house rental, just steps away from the Village of Lake Placid. Our home is located just below Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, NY and is the perfect getaway for friends and families to enjoy. The house itself was recently renovated to have all the modern amenities (including ones you might expect from a resort hotel), but also has the thoughtful charm of being your home away from home.

The Space:
Enjoy your morning coffee by the fireplace, or an afternoon cocktail al fresco on our patio. We have everything you need for the perfect getaway, whether you love hiking, skiing, swimming, relaxing, cooking, adventuring or all of the above.

The Living Room is our favorite spot to enjoy in the house. Get a fire going in our brick fireplace and make the house feel super cozy. Lounge on the sofas, switch on the Smart TV (where you can easily sign into your Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming account) for movie night or the big game, or enjoy one of our board games with your group. Each unit has its own living room (only unit 1 has a fireplace) and dining room area.

Sleeping Arrangements
Black Pearl - Unit 1 has one traditional bedroom and can sleep 4 guests. The King Size Bedroom sleeps 2, and the pull out sofa in the living room sleeps another 2. Black Pearl - Unit 2 has two bedrooms and can sleep 4 guests. The King Size Bedroom sleeps 2, and the bunk bed room sleeps another 2. Our bedrooms feature Casper Mattresses, quality linens, and are thoughtfully decorated. Each bedroom has either a closet or a dresser so you can comfortably unpack for your stay. Additionally, each room has its own climate control so that guests can adjust to their individual preference.

The Kitchen
Each Unit at Black Pearl has its own kitchen, equipped with all new appliances and finishes as well as cooking utensils, pots and pans, general spices, and basically all the tools you need to make morning pancakes, spaghetti bolognese dinner, and everything in between. (Groceries not provided.) For morning coffee, there is a coffee machine (with coffee provided), but please also feel free to bring along your favorite roast. You will find all the dish ware, serve ware, and drink ware you need for your group to dine, but don’t worry, we have you covered with a dishwasher too.

Bathrooms
There are two bathrooms in Black Pearl - Unit 1, the first bathroom is a powder room located near the living area. The second bathroom is nested in the bedroom and is a full bathroom with a combination shower/tub. There is one bathroom in Black Pearl - Unit 2, a full bathroom with a combination shower/tub. The bathrooms are stocked with toiletries, a hair dryer, and super plush towels. Also in-unit is a washer and dryer for your use.

Outdoors
Step out the back door of Black Pearl and you will find yourself on a wood deck with lounge seating for 4. If BBQ-ing is your thing, we have you covered with a propane grill. An extra tank is provided in case the one there runs low and needs to be swapped out. Note, this deck is accessible thru the Unit 1 space only.

Guest Access:
Guest can enjoy the privacy of the entire house. Please note that the parking area is right off the road and you need to walk down stairs to access the house.

The Neighborhood:
Nestled on the South side of Whiteface Mountain, the house is a quick 15 min drive to the Whiteface Mountain ski slopes, 10 min walk/2 min drive to Mirror Lake, and 10 min walk to Lake Placid Village. The location is perfect for winter skiing, sledding, and snowboarding. In the fall, hike below the beautiful foliage, and in the spring/summer be sure to check out Mirror Lake, more hiking, antiquing, and local farms & vineyards.

There are a handful of markets nearby, including a supermarket as well as a couple of wine & liquor stores for your convenience. This house is so well located that you will find great Food & Drink options moments away, including Generations, ‘Dack Shack, Ere’s Pizza Ristorante, Redneck Bistro, Simply Gourmet Bakery, Kanu, Cocoa & Dough Co., Great Adirondack Brewing Company, and so much more.

If you are looking for the great outdoors, there’s something for everyone - year round. A quick 15 min drive gets you to the base of Whiteface Mountain, the fifth-highest mountain in the U.S. state of New York, and one of the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Set apart from most of the other High Peaks, the summit offers a 360-degree view of the Adirondacks and clear-day glimpses of Vermont and even Canada. Whiteface's ski area boasts 90 trails stretching over 25 miles and encompassing three peaks. In the summer months, enjoy the Adirondack High Peaks from the comfort of an eight-passenger, high-speed gondola cabin, on the Cloudsplitter Gondola Ride. You can also hike a variety of trails of every level to explore the mountain, which is particularly amazing in the fall months as the leaves are turning colors.

During the warmer months, you can zip over to Mirror Lake, just 5 minutes away by car. Enjoy a 2.7 mile stroll (or run!) around Mirror Lake in the center of Lake Placid. This is a flat, scenic loop that's perfect for as many laps as you like. Or canoe, kayak, stand up paddleboard, or aqua bike across this gorgeous 128-acre, one-mile long lake. Lake Placid Public Beach a summer dream come true. Its sandy beach has a pier and a launch site for canoes or kayaks, there's a changing facility, tennis courts, and even a playground for the kiddos.

Getting Around:
Nearest airport: Lake Placid Airport – 5min drive from the house.

Nearest train station: Ferrisburgh-Vergennes – 1hour and 30min drive drive from the house.

Nearest bus station: Lake Placid Amtrak Bus Stop – 3min from the house location.

CHECK IN
The check-in will be contactless and keyless. Before you arrive, we will send you the code to the door lock.

PARKING
Please feel free to utilize the entire driveway for your vehicles throughout the length of your stay (fits up to 5 cars). Note that we are not responsible for personal items left in your car.

HOUSE ACCESS
The entire house is yours for the length of your stay. Note that this unit does sit along a main road and occasionally the traffic can be heard from inside.

HOUSE LOCATION
Please note that there is a hotel close to the house that is not operational.

OUTSIDE GUESTS
If you'd like to add an additional guest to the booking, please be sure to add them to the reservation or reach out to Stay at Lina team if your stay has already begun. We can typically accommodate up to the max number of guests noted on the original listing and no more. We cannot offer customer service for extra people who don’t have an official reservation through the platform, and any liability waivers won’t apply. NO PARTIES OR EVENTS.

SECURITY
Stepping out of the house? Keep your belongings safe and secure by remembering to close and lock all the doors and windows before leaving the property.

CHECK OUT
Our check-out time is at 11:00 AM. Please make sure to do the dishes (it’s ok to place the remaining dishes in the dishwasher and start the cycle), take the trash out and close the door before leaving. Don’t forget to do a final walk thru of the house to make sure you haven’t left behind any personal items.

RECYCLING
Guests can leave the recycling items on a separate bag in the house. Cleaning team will take care of it after guests leave.

ITEMS LEFT BEHIND
Please note that we are not responsible for any items left behind. Lina will make every effort to search and find your forgotten items after you check out but we do not guarantee if they can be found.

FRIENDS OF MOTHER NATURE
Please note that we are located in the countryside, surrounded by trees and foliage. Although we have regularly scheduled pest control services in and around the home and yard, you are still likely to see a few insects or other living beings from Mother Nature. We ask that you do your best to keep outside doors closed as much as possible to limit the amount of outdoor creatures from sneaking in.

PETS
We love pets and allow them in our houses, but please let us know if your are bringing your furry friend(s) along. Please understand that all of our furniture and decor is new and pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds. You will be responsible for any visible wear or damage your pets may cause. The maximum number of pets we allow is two.

REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
We cannot guarantee against mechanical failure of heating, air conditioning, appliances, TVs/media equipment, stereo equipment or pools/spas. Please report any inoperative equipment to us promptly. We will make every reasonable effort to have repairs done quickly and efficiently. If you demonstrate that the problem persists after being given phone instructions by our team, a maintenance service professional may be dispatched. NO REFUNDS OR RENT REDUCTIONS WILL BE MADE DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS, INTERRUPTIONS OF UTILITIES, MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS OR CONSTRUCTION IN THE AREA. WHILE LINA WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO REPAIR ANY MAINTENANCE ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER, IT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE FIXED DURING A GUEST STAY, AS THE COMPANY MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH HOME WARRANTIES. Lina will always look for alternative solutions to ensure and prioritize guest comfort.
