Other Things to Note:
Bugs
We get asked about Palmetto Bugs all the time. Yes, these are roaches and are found pretty much everywhere outside in South Carolina but we like to call them Palmetto Bugs as it makes them sound nicer! They can be pretty big, can fly and will scurry around the floor but they are largely harmless. They do occasionally come inside, especially at night and during or after any storms. Rest assured all of our homes are professionally treated monthly for pests. Any bugs that manage to get inside will die quickly.

According to Eric Benson, Ph.D. professor and extension entomologist at Clemson University “It has nothing to do with cleanliness or the economic conditions of the area,” said Benson. “They could be around the nicest home or the nicest hotel or resort.”

If you leave the doors or windows open, especially at night, you will likely see a few. This is perfectly normal. If you see 20 or 30 all in one place then please let us know. This might mean we have a nest somewhere in the home and we'll need to get pest control out to take care of it. This is extremely rare!

Please don't worry about bugs, enjoy your vacation. You'll likely not see any while you are here, we just include this note so you understand it's not unusual to see some and it doesn't mean the home isn't well looked after!

The house was clean, well stocked with towels, sheets and everything needed in the kitchen.Also the closeness to the beach is great.If i can make a few suggestions I would replace the tile in the main bathroom which is cracked, replace the lights on the deck.I would still recommend this home to anyone looking for a great location.

Can’t beat location

We enjoyed our stay here, location was just perfect especially for a private home literally 1 house down from the beach and a short walk to coligny. The property management team was very responsive and helpful. Would def revisit.

Lovely home, just not for octogenarians.

The property was very nice. Beautifully decorated. Top of the line appliances. We had one small problem. The property manager responded immediately. The master suite is on the top level of the home. It was immence. We are in our eighties with bad knees. So we chose to use the downstairs bedrooms. The sofa was soft and low to the ground. I had a heck of a time getting up and out of the sofa. We enjoyed the deck watching a squirrel climbing up and down the trees and jumping from branch to branch. The beach is not handicapped accessible.

Big beach home in walking distance to the beach and small community with shops, grocery store and restaurants. Plenty of room for everyone. Gate code to the beach only worked the first day. We used the public access to the beach the rest of our stay. Overall we enjoyed our stay and recommend this property.

Look further - don't stay here

The house was dirty and needed repairs. The table bench had a line of sand on it. It really needs a deep cleaning. Not sure the blankets and bedspreads were even clean. One of the bedrooms was extremely warm. Upon investigation, the corner of the window wasn't even in the sill. The lights flickered in one of the bathrooms. The coffee pot was an accident waiting to happen. The toaster burnt the bread and started smoking. One of the blankets had holes. The pull out couch was broken. There wasn't any extra blankets. There was not a beach view. But it did have beach access and it was quiet. Very disappointing.

Great location!

This property is ideally located for spending time on the beach and getting to Coligny Plaza for food and drinks. The beach cooler, chairs, and wagon made getting to the beach extremely easy. The property owner provided wonderful communication prior to our rental. I will definitely stay at this property again!

Basically perfect

Property was as advertised. Amazing proximity to the beach. Spacious with great outdoor deck space. Sent the property owners a few pointers on how to improve the space for future guests, and this advice was accepted. None of the suggestions that I made were about anything that actually negatively impacted the stay. I would recommend this property to anybody I know. We felt the price was fair.

Perfect beach vacation house

Had a truly great beach vacation (private access gate to beach is 20 feet from front door) here with family, children and a toddler. House was very comfortable, all the amenities we needed, clean, beds in great shape, lots of space, fun part of the island. Will definitely be back.

Great location, lots of room for family

More attention should be paid to details when cleaning the house (dust, edges, corners). Also, construction on the house across the street every weekday (noise, workers parked in the street and blocking the garage). Beach is gated, but has heavy foot and bike traffic from the hotel on the left.
