Unfortunately, the room I was assigned was a significant disappointment. Although it was facing the inner courtyard, it was located directly next to the elevator. The wall opposite the elevator was made of glass, and the room windows were positioned immediately beside the elevator area. This meant that guests waiting for or exiting the elevator, as well as people simply walking through the corridor, could look directly into the room. There was essentially no privacy whenever the curtains were open. To have any privacy, I had to keep the curtains completely closed, which unfortunately also meant having virtually no natural daylight in the room. For a five-star hotel, particularly given the relatively high room rate, I found this room arrangement difficult to understand and below the standard I would expect. A room in such a location should, in my opinion, be clearly indicated or offered with appropriate privacy considerations. I would nevertheless like to emphasize that the hotel itself is beautiful, and the spa, pool and breakfast were definite highlights of my stay. I would simply recommend paying close attention to the exact location of the room when booking.
