Beautiful Property, Great Service, But Not Quite 5-Star We recently stayed at Secrets Puerto Vallarta and overall had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. The property is beautiful, clean, and the staff is incredibly hospitable and attentive. The lobby has gorgeous views, and the grounds are very well maintained. That said, I’m not sure I would consider this a true 5-star experience. After checking in, we were handed off to “VIP Handlers,” who are essentially sales representatives trying to get guests into a two-hour presentation for their “vacation club,” which felt like a glorified timeshare. We had just traveled, were tired, and clearly said we wanted to get to our room. Despite that, we experienced a very persistent, high-pressure sales pitch and had to say NO several times before we could leave. It was not the welcome we were hoping for. Our room was nice, clean, comfortable, and a little dated. Honestly, cleanliness matters more to me than having the newest furnishings, so that wasn't a major issue. The biggest disappointment was the food. The resort promotes its dining as top-notch, but that wasn't our experience. We’d give the food a C+ overall. Despite those shortcomings, we had an amazing time relaxing, enjoying the pools, having drinks, and taking in the beautiful surroundings. We would absolutely recommend Puerto Vallarta, but based on our experience, Secrets has some room for improvement before I’d consider it a 5-star property.

Das Hotel liegt in einer Bucht . Die Zimmer sind so angeordnet, dass man von jeden Balkon einen Blick aufs Meer und den Pool hat. es gibt einen Pool für Erwachsene, für alle mit Poolbar, einen Kinderpool mit kleiner Rutsche im Schatten, 2 Whirlpool und einen für Sport z.B. Volleyball. es gibt genügend Liegen und Schirme am Pool und Strand. Das Peronal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. es gibt ein Buffet-Restaurant und 4 verschiedene a la Card Restaurants. vom Flughafen fährt man ca. 45-50 Minuten.

Wir waren hier vor 10Jahren und das Hotel war Top in allen Bereichen. Das einzige was geblieben ist die Location und der Eingangsbereich. Das Essen war früher ein Highlight. Heute ist es nur noch ein schlechtes billiges Kantinenessen. Nichts wird mehr frisch gemacht. Alles billigst ein gekauft. Es geht hier nicht mehr um Qualität ä, sondern nur noch so viel wie mögliche Menschen so billig wie möglich abzuspeisen. Man ist am Meer und es gibt keinen frischen Fisch oder Meeresfrüchte…. Alles tiefgefroren. Wir hatten hier früher mehrere tolle Aufenthalte in sehr gutem Ambienten. Die Gäste hatten ein Level. Heute geht es nur noch um billig und so sind auch die Gäste. Es hat nichts mehr mit Etikette zu tun. Man fühlt sich wie auf den Dorf. Zu guter letzt ist der Pool mit 35 bis 38 grad einfach viel zu warm. Im Zimmer kommt auch nur warm Wasser und kein kaltes Wasser. Leider sind wir rundum enttäuscht worden und werden hier nicht mehr zurück kommen. Schade!
