The cabin sits on the side of a hill with 8 acres full of trails, animals and peace & quiet. The adjacent cottage and car port are the only buildings to be seen. Turkeys, mule deer and a variety of birds were frequent visitors especially drawn to the water feature (small fountain-waterfall) in the front yard. There's a large deck off the cabin's front and another about 50 yds. away - both with plenty of comfortable seating. Children have an outdoor theater with a dirt floor, tables and chairs and a delightful array of Alice in Wonderland themed decorations around the it's perimeter.
Inside, you're provided with anything you could possibly need from a wall of books to first aid supplies and utensils. Wonderful views thanks surround you thanks to plentiful windows with comfortable seating to enjoy them. In addition, there's a panoply of interesting objects scattered throughout the cabin reflective of the area. Downstairs two bedrooms accommodate four people while upstairs sleeps five, however there's only one bathroom - the cabin's only real drawback. For that reason we would recommend no more than four stay there.
While 23 miles from Yosemite's south entrance was further than ideal, we found plenty of worthwhile activities around Bass Lake (hiking and dining) and Oakhurst (groceries, shopping and hiking).
The owner was most responsive to any need or questions we had.
