Wellfleet Center
We have enjoyed visiting Wellfleet for many years, but this was our first time staying in the center of town. The location was perfect for all our activities and interests.
However, we could not access the property as the previous guests did not leave the keys, so I had to contact the agent and wait for her to bring the keys to us. While we waited, we saw that there were many toys and items scattered about on the deck. It looked as if the previous guests had just tossed belongings about. Both grills were dirty and full of ashes. We reported this to the agent who was surprised and understanding.
Upon entering the house, we discovered that our linens had not been delivered (not the fault of the agent) and that the floors and counters were not clean. We spent some time sweeping and wiping down the kitchen. The floor should have been mopped.
Overall, we enjoyed our week in Wellfleet but the backyard was the savior of our time in this house. We ate all our meals outside (the kitchen was pretty gross) and used the outdoor fireplace every evening while we cooked on the grill and played with children and dogs.
