This is Grade 1 listed building. "Parish church. Late C12 - early C13 chancel, C13 tower, nave arcades and south door, C14 aisles, C15 tower parapet. Restorations of 1884 by J Fowler of Louth included rebuilding south porch, new nave and chancel roofs. Limestone, ironstone and chalk rubble and squared blocks with ashlar dressings; ashlar south porch. Lead roofs to aisles, slate roofs to remainder. West tower, 4-bay aisled nave with south porch and 3-bay chancel. 2-stage tower: moulded plinth, angle buttresses to first stage, quoins to second stage. Tall 1st stage has west lancet, cill string course, small lancet to south and clockface to west, moulded string course. 2nd stage has tall twin belfry openings with polygonal shafts in pointed chamfered reveal with shaft-rings. Thornton Hall Thornton Hall photographed from Station Road. The main block was probably built shortly after 1695. Pevsner says "The facade proper is of five bays, the end bays lying back a little and carrying the main chimneys. These end bays are large enough to provide closets at first floor level. Stone details are restricted to the window surrounds and quoins. Segmental pediments to the lower windows, an open segmental pediment to the door."

Sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt die 9 Tage. Das Frühstück war gut. Genug Auswahl. Das Zimmer groß und sauber. Schon ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen aber das macht nix. Nähe zum Bahnhof und Bus. Sehr empfehlenswert. Ich komme wieder

Ein etwas in die Jahre gekommendes Hotel, was jedoch neue Möbel bekommen hat. Der Teppichboden machte einen schmuddeligen Eindruck. Zimmer 322 war kalt und blieb kalt, das Bad war eisig, obwohl der Reception mitgeteilt. Das WIFI war je nach Belegung schlecht bis mittelmässig. Zum Übernachten ok, ...
