Bask in the sun on your private dock, take a refreshing swim, or enjoy the spectacular sunrises and sunsets from the lawn of The Alvig House on Green Lake. Room for up to 10 guests awaits in this lovingly restored private home vacation rental right on the shores of Green Lake.
This beautiful waterfront home offers a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle, yet is just a short drive from local amenities, including boat launches, restaurants, and a golf course.
The Accommodations at The Alvig House A quiet, tree-lined street leads to The Alvig House, a portent of things to come. As you approach, you’ll see a path to the spacious open backyard, with a propane barbecue to grill your freshly caught Walleye or Northern.
The front door opens to a light-filled, airy, open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen with gleaming hardwood floors. Wall-to-wall windows facing the lake enhance the feeling of openness and infuse the room with ever-shifting light as the day goes from sunrise to sunset. As you cast your gaze to the beautiful outdoors, you might even see Bald Eagles soaring above the lake by day, and hear the distinct sound of Loons flying in pairs to their nests.
The adjacent family room features plenty of relaxing seating and a 52-inch HD TV, and there are games, books, and Legos for the little ones.
The kitchen is galley-style with new appliances and everything you need – dishes, glassware, cookware, and flatware – to whip up some delicious meals.
The master bedroom, on the ground floor adjacent to the family room, has a queen-sized bed plus a twin trundle bed that can be used for relaxing or sleeping. A seat beneath a large window overlooks the lake. What a view! The downstairs bathroom also has plenty of natural light with a shower and a large vanity.
Next, walk up the brightly lit stairway to a beautiful, spacious loft area. It includes a quiet workspace, a full bed in a magical hideaway nook, a queen-sized bed, and a trundle bed. Watch your favorite shows on a 43-inch HD TV. The loft area bathroom has a charming full bath and shower area to wash off after a full day of playing on the lake.
Walking outside, you are greeted by a spacious green lawn with a panoramic uninterrupted view of the lake. Relax in a lawn chair with a beverage as you breathe in the view. Walk down the stairs to the lake shore to a 40ft dock.
There’s also a lovely landing on the shore with a fire pit where you can roast marshmallows during the spectacular Alvig House Green Lake sunsets.
Among the amenities offered by The Alvig House are a washer-dryer, a generous supply of towels and bed linens, and dedicated parking for 3 vehicles, including your boat trailer.

Nice place! Nice owner. Nice neighbors. Good TV’s. Good kitchen with nice new fridge. Mosquitoes weren’t an issue, but you may need to bring a fly swatter just in case the flies get aggressive.

• The lake was wonderful, and the inside of the home was cute.• The exterior had not been cleaned or maintained. The lawn was very long, with rotting leaf piles, 12-inch weeds growing through the stairs, and mayflies and spiderwebs covering the outside, chairs, and handrails.• Near the dock, broken, sharp dock pieces were piled in an overgrown area.• My husband, our two children, and I spent about five hours mowing, raking, weeding, cleaning furniture, and removing debris so the property was safe and usable before the rest of our family arrived.• The listing stated there was a deck or patio, but there was neither. The only outdoor furniture was a few dirty chairs and a small table under a bush. We bought a table and six chairs because there was no outdoor dining space, and the indoor table seated only four of our group of ten.• The loft stairs are very narrow and steep. The upstairs shower is only about three feet high because of the sloped roof.• The loft has no air conditioning or windows. Even with outdoor highs around 70 degrees, it was too hot to sleep, so several of us slept on the main floor.• The host’s response to the property condition was simply that the neighbor was supposed to mow weekly.• Our daughter’s bike got locked in the garage, and the host provided access to the basement but not the garage and told us to ask the neighbor only in an emergency. Luckily, the neighbor opened the garage. We would not stay here again or recommend this property.
