„We had a lovely short stay at Macbeth’s Hillock. The cottage was clean, cosy and comfortable, with everything we needed. We mainly stayed there overnight while travelling, but I also cooked dinner there, which worked very well. The location is peaceful, close to local sights, and right next to a farm with beautiful sheep, which made the stay feel even more charming. A very pleasant place for our short stay.“

„Die Hütte war nur oberflächlich sauber, machte insgesamt keinen ordentlichen Eindruck. Sehr wenig Geschirr, unpraktische und schäbige Stühle, Gartenmöblierung heruntergekommen, nachts sind Schnecken über unsere Koffer gekrochen.Der Eigentümer war nicht gerade freundlich, ganz anders als bisherige Bewertungen hier. Insgesamt enttäuschend.Die Lage am Wasser und im Ort ist allerdings gut.“

„Simply Outstanding. Don't go by the over- or under-photoshopped pics. The place is extremely comfortable, well-sized, with a plush bathroom, all imaginable amenities, the nicest kitchen we have seen, and amazing views. Please don't forget to gaze at the stars at night. We stayed in the Learach room. Since this is the located the "lowest" of all cabins, it gets the least amount of afternoon / evening sun and limited views of the water from outside, but we didn't mind. “

"Im ganzen war alles gut, bis auf das Personal…. Man merkte das wie alles wie auf einer Liste abgearbeitet wurde und das alles ohne Seele und Emotion. Dazu kommt noch die Unfreundlichkeit. Das Personal sollte man neu strukturieren und Ihnen beim Empfang der Gäste ein Lächeln ins Gesicht zaubern. Was man noch erwähnen könnte, ist das es Zimmer ohne Fenster gibt. Den ein Zimmer für eine Nacht ohne Fenster lag bei uns bei 150 Franken was eindeutig zu viel ist und somit keine 4 Sterne wert ist."

"We stayed here for three nights and it was very nice and atmospheric, but there are smaller things here and there that could have been avoided: A hook on the wall with left over traces where a picture used to be, some Velcro around the entrance door to our room, half hanging, I guess there used to be mosquito net, a broken chair on our porch, a lantern lying broken on the ground on the way up from the property entrance to the main building… all small things that were not really too bad but also didn’t give the impression of a well cared of hotel. The stuff was very nice and helpful, we loved staying in a small hobbit-like house and breakfast was included in our booking and really good! We had dinner at the restaurant once, that was good but not exceptional. You should be mobile and moderately fit when staying here since you’ll walk up slightly uphill on gravel roads to the rooms/units. We loved the sauna that you can book for private sessions. It would be great to have a small fridge in the room."

"Ein sehr sauberes Zimmer und sehr freundliches Personal. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Parkplätze gibt es direkt an der Straße. Das Hotel zieht sich über mehrere hübsche Gebäude, die entweder direkt Zimmer oder Appartments beihalten. Das Frühstück ist ebenfalls in einem eigenen Gebäude, das auch als Restaurant genutzt wird, untergebracht. Innerhalb des Gebäudekomplexes gibt es eine Destillerie und eine Brauerei, die in dem hauseigenen Pub verköstigt werden können."

"A lovely old hotel on the seafront with gorgeous views. Large room with high ceiling and confortable bed. Bathroom rather old fashioned, but everything worked fine and the shower was particularly good (a real shower not just a trickle like you sometimes get now!). Pleasant bar and restaurant, excellent breakfast."

"Wir waren vor ein paar Jahren bereits zweimal hier und waren begeistert. Darum wollten wir wieder kommen und haben den sehr hohen Zimmerpreis in der Hochsaison bezahlt. Jetzt waren wir jedoch extrem enttäuscht. Es wurde ein Neubau angebaut. Viele Leute (ca. 200 Zimmer). Viele Kinder und Familien, die auf der Wiese spielten und sich tummelten. Ungepflegtes Familien-Restaurant auf Terrasse mit Selbstbestellung, usw.. Auch das Restaurant am See. Wie Massenhotels in den US. Es hat den alten exklusiven Charakter stark verloren. Es geht um Masse. Sehr schön sind die Zimmer und die Whiskey-Bar ist immer noch fantastisch. Das Personal ist sehr nett und kompetent. Sehr schade und absolut nicht mehr wert. Wir kommen nicht mehr und suchen andere exklusive Resorts."

"Direkt am Bahnhof von Inverness und trotzdem mitten im Geschehen — ideal für eine Nacht auf dem Weg durch die Highlands. Parkplätze direkt am Hotel sind vorhanden, was in einer Stadtlage nicht selbstverständlich ist. Das Hotel hat echten schottischen Charakter mit seiner beeindruckenden viktorianischen Eingangshalle. Solide Basis für alles, was Inverness zu bieten hat."
