CIMA DEL MAR #4 - Cozy upstairs condo w/ ocean views and private balcony
Escape to this charming upstairs condo in beautiful Playa Sámara with private balcony, stunning ocean views, and infinity pool. Wake up to the sound of waves, birds, and howler monkeys while enjoying your cup of coffee while overlooking Bahía Sámara. Check the surf on the outer reef or spot whales while lounging by the pool or in a hammock on the covered rooftop deck. This beautiful condo features 1 cozy bedroom with a queen bed, 1 bathroom with a shower, and an inviting living room with 2 comfy futons that fold out to queen size beds. Guests can enjoy amenities like AC, hot water, stove, refrigerator, shared clothes washing machine/dryer, outdoor shower, WiFi, and TV during their stay. Each condo has an electric cook top stove, pots, pans, dishes, storage containers, blenders, and coffee makers. There are four condos total, two downstairs poolside, two on the second floor with private balconies. Pool area, rooftop deck with tables, chairs, seating, and propane BBQ are shared.
Ideal for the single traveler, couples, or families; you are right in the middle of downtown Samara with easy access to amenities, walking distance to shops, grocery stores, bars and restaurants, and the beach. Even though you are in town, the location is far enough away you are not getting all the dust and noise of being in the town center. Enjoy the fresh breezes on this hilltop location above the Pacific Ocean.
If this is your first time in Sámara there are plenty of things to do and see in the area. There are a number of restaurants that serve everything from local Costa Rican comida típica, vegetarian and vegan options, sea food, to international foods from all over the world... and of course beachfront dining. There are several grocery stores in town, a hardware store, gift shops, and a farmer's market Saturdays 7am - 2pm. While not a "party town", there is plenty of night life for all ages including bars, karoake nights, live music, and even fire performers on the beach. Enjoy the calm warm waters of the beach out front (especially on low tide). The beach is great for kids and a perfect place to learn to surf (especially when the tide is coming up). There are much more challenging waves (often world class and empty) in all directions depending on the swell, weather, and tide. Other adventures in the area include several waterfalls you can hike to and swim, tide pools, horseback riding on the beach, kayaking or paddle boarding to the island Isla Chora, snorkeling, dolphin tours, sports fishing, spearfishing, zip lining, wildlife viewing and much more. While the beach out front is highly recommended and so beautiful, there are also many other beaches within a short drive, all with their own beauty and charm.
Before you arrive it is a good idea to download WhatsApp. This is how almost everyone communicates in Costa Rica. Many phone carriers will charge a daily fee for cell service, or you can use WiFi and WhatsApp to communicate back home or with others in the country including us. Your local point of contact will be Alejandro. Alejandro is a very good friend I have known for many, many years. He is a local Tico born and raised in Sámara, is a professional surfer, speaks Spanish and English fluently, and will be happy to help you find the adventure you are looking for and can even help you book transportation, amenities, and tours. When arriving, it is a good idea to contact us when you are in Nicoya which is about 50 minutes away.
A few other points of discussion. We built Cima Del Mar with families in mind. We always enjoyed traveling with friends and other families, but found we needed our own space we could retreat back to (sharing a house was always problematic). That being said, we welcome children and families. However, please be aware there is a pool right outside the condo door. There are also stairs, railings, and ledges. Please supervise your children (especially small children) very closely. Next... bugs and wildlife are part of the jungle. You are visiting a tropical place. Being up on the hill we find there are much fewer bugs like mosquitos and purrujas (no-see-ums) etc, than right on the beach. Please plan accordingly. Bring bug spray or essential oils or go inside during certain times of the day when the bugs are out. Also turn off lights not in use that may attract bugs. That being said, there are some really cool bugs if you happen to be or know any entomologists. Welcome to the jungle. While Guanacaste is a "dry forest", it is still a rainforest and wildlife is part of life. Next...while Costa Rica and Sámara is very safe, that is no reason to let your guard down. Always be aware of your personal belongings on the beach or in public. Don't leave items unattended or in plain view.
We are dedicated to making your Costa Rican beach vacation hassle-free and enjoyable. Please contact us with any questions or help planning your trip! Pura Vida!
