Wonderful Place

I can't say enough about our visit. First, our host Hal. What a great guy. He met us upon arrival, arranged transportation back to airport upon departure, and I enjoyed our conversations with him during our stay. The apartment is large and luxurious, and located in a very nice part of town right next door to the Villa Borghese Gardens (which has a very nice and quaint zoo). My wife and I had a great time in Rome and enjoyed our stay. Thanks Hal !!

Get away in Rome

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. The property is lovely, the neighborhood is excellent and Hal is charming to work with. The apartment is well appointed, the best part is the lovely private patio. This property is close to the Villa Borghese and there is a lovely, large park for strolling, running etc. It is about a mile to the Spanish steps. This is a quiet upscale neighborhood away from the chaos of top attractions. it is not the easiest to get to everything (we used cabs but it is about 1.5 -2 miles from Coloseum/Vatican but there are close metro and bus stations. If you want to just relax in a safe, quiet area of Rome, stroll to the local taverna for dinner and have coffee at leisurely pace, this place is perfect. Would love to stay again.

A real class act

My husband and I are a couple of septuagenarians who came from a bike trip in Croatia which was pretty challenging, to Rome which was even more challenging but in different ways. We wanted to be near the city center, which meant being in crowds all day, but have a comfortable, quiet place to come back to and spread out. Hal's place is big (800 sf), and tall (gorgeous vaulted ceilings), furnished beautifully, including a king size Ralph Lauren bed to die for, with good pillows to boot! The kitchen and bathroom were small but very efficiently designed and equipped with high quality appliances. The living areas were huge (by most B and B standards), and one could simply stretch out, put your feet up after a long day of walking, and look around you at the significant art on the walls. We were a couple blocks away from the Borghese Museum, and a couple miles away from the Vatican, so we were able to see and go everywhere we wanted to on foot, though a cab ride would make sense, too. Beware the traffic and crowds, however. It's often easier and faster--not to mention healthier--to walk. Hal was also very generous with his time and availability during check-in and check-out, and arranged for transportation to and from the airport for us. A real gentleman!

Beautiful apt in Rome

Best apt of our entire 6 weeks in Europe. Great location in an excellent neighbourhood. Hal was a delight to deal with & the beautiful ground floor apt had everything we could need. Excellent location and great host!

We loved our stay at The Palm House! It’s a beautiful private location with a lovely garden and patio. We could walk right into the Borghese gardens and museum. Easy walk to many landmarks. Hal helped orient us to the neighborhood and left us with maps, bus schedules and restaurant recommendations. Lots of space in the apartment and Hal had many nice extra touches for guests. A great host, highly recommend staying at this property!

Great Stay

We stayed one week at this property. Hal was easy to get in contact with. Upon arrival he explained how items worked in the apartment. The apartment is clean and exactly as listed. The location is north of Villa Borghese, be ready to walk a lot. There were trams that run in front of the apartment but while we were there, they were not running, It is around a one mile walk to Metro station SPAGNA . We walked an average of 8-10 miles a day while we were there . Weather was nice in May so it was not a problem for us. There are 2 grocery stores about 7-10 minute walk from the apartment called TIGRE or DOC . You can pick up anything from there. The kitchen was well stocked and the linen and towels were provided. Hal arranged transport from the airport for 95 euros each way and that was quite helpful. The apartment has air conditioning which will be important as the weather becomes warmer in July and August. Netflix was provided and my kids enjoyed that as we returned after our visits. We walked to the Spanish Steps, Fontana di Trevi, Colosseum , Vatican City from the apartment. The apartment is in a quiet residential area so very safe and peaceful. There is a washer in the apartment which was helpful. Overall recommended!

5 day stay in Rome

Well located in a lovely, quiet and safe neighbourhood. A few minutes from the beautiful Villa Borgheze and close to bus transport to Termini. The apartment was everything we hoped for. Perfect Stay in Rome

We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again if and when we make it back to Rome. The apartment is beautiful, spacious, clean and well appointed. Hal was super communicative and helpful and even gave us a wonderful recommendation for nearby food that we fell in love with and went to each day! This is a more residential quiet part of Rome which we loved. It is still within walking distance of all the main attractions. We stayed at the Palm House near Villa Borghese in Rome in July and loved it so much. Villa Borghese is a beautiful area in Rome and very close to lots of sights. This apartment has a full kitchen with everything you need including cups, plates, silverware, pots, pans, dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, microwave, oven, range, 2 coffee makers, and toaster. The bedroom is large with a king bed and lots of storage. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room, and a large dining table and chairs in the dining room. The wifi was easy to connect to. The AC worked great and it was really nice because the temperature was 100+ degrees while we were there. Even though it was warm out, I drank my coffee on the private back patio every morning and it was just perfect. Hal is a great host and he showed us around the apartment and explained everything when we checked in. He gave us great restaurant recommendations and arranged for transportation from/to the airport. He even had maps and instructions for using public transportation. I am looking forward to my next visit and I will stay there again. This is a GREAT place to stay in Rome.

The perfect Home base for exploring Rome!

Spacious apartment on ground floor with high ceilings. Very cool at a time when the temperature in Rome was anything but! The owner, Hal, is originally from the US and was so good at orienting us and responding to our questions. He even helped arrange transportation to the airport. The location of the apartment two blocks from to the Borghese Park makes many of the main "must sees" within a two mile walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. And there is a fantastic restaurant (Traverna Rossini) nearby that was so good and had such a variety of food that we ate there twice during our stay. There is also a grocery store and an ATM very close by. All and all, it was a perfect home base from which to explore Rome!

Outstanding apartment/small bottom floor villa in a quite neighborhood. Your love the birds singing to your awakening in the morning. Relaxing week in Rome

The three of us thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay at Hal's Villa Borghese apartment. It's in a quiet, upscale neighborhood outside the tourist hustle and bustle, but it's easy to get to the tourist sites by bus, tram, or walking through the Borghese Gardens. Hal was a wonderful host who communicated promptly and explained all of the features of the apartment clearly. In terms of the apartment itself, the air conditioning worked well, all rooms were very comfortable, and the beautiful patio was a big bonus. Fantastic large apartment in a great location

This is a fantastic large beautiful apartment in a great area. So many options with bus and tram routes so close. Hal the owner was so helpful, from the moment we commenced the booking until we left after our stay. Hal recommended some local restaurants which were very good and even took the time to book one for my husband and myself for a very special night . The location to the Borghese gardens also allows you to walk to some of Romes famous sites.

Wonderful stay!

What a beautiful apartment in an outstanding neighborhood. Hal is such a kind and thoughtful host! He gave us a great tour of the neighborhood upon our arrival which was so helpful. Great location, great host

The property was great; clean, easily accessible and close to the Villa Borghese. There’s a cab stand a block away and small markets and shops 2-3 blocks away. 1 mile from the Via Venetian. The property was originally advertised as having 2 bikes (both were broken and not available) and a bathtub but the apt. was remodeled and there was a good shower. The apt. Was originally listed as having parking on site but that might not be the case….double check before booking. We almost drove down from Florence but took the train instead.
