The property itself was dated, but functional. We drove 26 hours and asked if we could check-in an hour early and were told absolutely not, no exceptions. Bummer, but not a big deal. After being at the property for an hour, my minor child was approached by the neighbor who indicated that they had a conversation with the unit owner earlier in the day and was assured the unit wouldn’t be rented for the week because there were plumbing issues in the kitchen and the use of our sink, dishwasher, and laundry flood their unit. So we went 3 days without those amenities. Communication with the property management company was awful. We only received updates on the status if I reached out. The issue was magically resolved when I requested reimbursement for dinner since we couldn’t use the kitchen. We used the dishwasher and when we unloaded it, none of the dishes were clean and due to the heated dry function, everything was baked on. So we had to soak them and wash the dishes by hand the rest of the trip. I reached out to Vacasa (property management company) and was told that they would put in a maintenance ticket and work on getting us a reimbursement. After 24 hours of silence from Vacasa, I once again reached out for an update. I was told that the dishwasher would be replaced. Great for the unit, but not for us unfortunately. As for making the situation right, Vacasa indicated “our team is yet to reach out to you about compensation and so forth”. 24 hours later, still no update.
