The Casa Mari property was older and in worse shape than the photos have you believe. It wasn't dirty but it was run down. The bed and furniture were old and uncomfortable.
The best thing was the expected location right off the main square. Although the photos imply you have a table on a private terrace to drink wine on, In reality the property opens up to a restaurant where patrons are drinking past midnight with the tables right outside your door.
Communication was non existent the morning of arrival. The unit was on the opposite side of the square than originally explained to us. We couldnt find it. After trying to contact the owner 5x over 2 hours I had to contact the original booking agency (which we found out was in India) to finally get someone to acknowledge our arrival, contact the owner and finally get us the key.
The owner seemed only interested in the payment and not our experience. We were a nuisance.
It is a shame because with a little investment in paint etc this property could be a jewel.
The experience ruined our stay in Marzamemi which is a beautiful little village. Please visit- just stay somewhere else.
We do not recommend and will not be back to Casa Mari.
PS we did get a small bar of olive oil soap when we checked out. That was the best part of the stay at Casa Mari.
