Our overall stay at the Renaissance in Daytona Beach was decent, especially considering the premium price per night. The decor and cleanliness throughout the hotel were topnotch modern, stylish, and very well maintained.
That said, there were a few issues that impacted our experience. In our room, the mini fridge did not cool at all, which was inconvenient. The $40 per night valet parking felt steep, especially since the process was somewhat chaotic. Valet attendants had to retrieve vehicles from across the street, leading to occasional backups and delays.
The onsite restaurant was beautifully decorated and had a lovely ambiance. Unfortunately, they appeared to be very short staffed, resulting in long wait times during breakfast service.
Finally, as a family friendly hotel, there were quite a few children around which is expected. However, kids tossing a ball over the heads of adults trying to relax did take away from the peaceful atmosphere.
Overall, it’s a visually impressive hotel with potential for a great experience, but a few operational improvements would make a big difference.
