Easily head over to Roanoke Island for the day to visit the site of the Lost Colony and observe sea life at the Aquarium or take a day trip to Cape Hatteras Seashore to explore the towns of Hatteras Island. Since you have a view of the lighthouse, it goes without saying that you should pay it a visit! Less than 5 miles south, stop by the historic Bodie Island Lighthouse and climb to the top for incredible views of the sound and surrounding marshes.
