"We had wonderful days at the “House Like a Boat” in Monterosso al Mare — the view from the terrace over the sea and the beach is unbeatable. It’s the perfect starting point for hikes and boat trips, as the ferry dock is right in front of the house and you’re directly on the hiking trail. Just a minute’s walk uphill, there’s an excellent restaurant with very good cuisine.The house is a little gem, both in terms of location and interior design. The kitchen is perfectly equipped — you’ll find everything you need.Christina gave us a very warm welcome and was also very helpful upon our arrival.The house cannot be reached by car. If, like us, you do come by car, you can park in the main parking lot in Monterosso al Mare. The walk to the house is about 700 meters — 500 meters almost flat, then a small incline for the last 200 meters. We took a taxi from the parking lot since we had two heavy suitcases. (Christina kindly helped us with the taxi, and it worked out perfectly.) When we left, we walked back to the parking lot. Our recommendation: definitely bring rolling suitcases — then it’s no problem at all.If possible, it’s advisable not to come by car. We were lucky with parking, as in October it wasn’t very crowded anymore, but at other times it can apparently be quite full. The parking fee for us from Saturday 5:00 p.m. to Wednesday 11:00 a.m. was 70.Many thanks to Christina for her great support, and to Elena and Enrico for renting this unique property to us."
