It is a lovely classic hotel with carpeted floors and a nice breakfast room. "Full British" breakfast is available in different variations.
The rooms facing the street can be noisy if the windows are open; no noise if the windows are closed. The Street noise arises at a decent time, reminding business travellers that it is time to get up anyway.
It is situated near the Metro station "West Jesmond", even though it is no problem wandering down the "Osborne Road", turn into "Clarendon", then into "Brandling Park" and use one of the subways of the Exhibition Park to get to the citiy centre. Those who fancy a walk do not necessarily have to take the Metro.
The buffet at first appears a bit feeble at first sight, but it is the British breakfast which renders it sumptuous.

Dinner was delicious and high quality. Attentive and friendly staff. Quality real ale in the bar. Mix of locals and visitors. Spacious accommodations. Character and lovely atmosphere. Very dog friendly and interesting short walk nearby highlighting prehistoric and dark ages history.
