The kitchen is stocked with essentials and all the things that you would need which was great. The beds are extremely firm which wasn’t ideal for us. „Our stay at Herons watch was wonderful. The house was clean and stocked with everything we could ever want and need. We brought our boat and launched it at the bridge which was easy and the ride on the lake back to the house was smooth and easy. The views are awesome. We enjoyed family meals and sitting on the porch , had a camp fire, played games, fished and relaxed. I highly recommend this home for a quality vacation thank you“

Another reason was the proximity to an event I was attending.The location is in a very undeveloped area, but the camp is fairly close to a road as the bird flies, high above and visually removed from it. Noise from the road was not any problem, and good roads nearby was a plus.The owner has a house on the road into the camp, well separated from camp. „We spent the night in Mad River Valley at the 1830 House for a weekend event. The house was clean and cosy and it accommodated all of us. The Wifi worked well and we loved the privacy each of us had in our own rooms. We also appreciated the kitchen (there are two, if you book the whole house - one up and one down!). It was close to our venue, the Mad River Barn, too. The only downside (minor) was the steep stairwell to the second floor. There was no railing to guide guests. My 84-year-old mom ...

„The maple castle was awesome! Definitely the most unique house I have ever stayed in. You can sit in the hot tub and watch the river or you can walk down a tiny hill to tie up a tube and float in it. The owners were extremely helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend. “
