It was clean enough ... though we did need to clean sticky areas off the floor, and wash a glass from the cabinet with greasy fingerprints and food residue on it. I usually wash dishes before I use them in VRBOs anyway, but it was gross. The bed was clean and comfortable and it was great being able to set the thermostat to our liking.
