We booked this London flat in May 2025 for a 14-night stay in September/October. Communication with our host, Will, was clear and timely, and we received our entry details a few days before arrival. While traveling from the U.S., we got word that the flat was suddenly unavailable due to a "boiler issue." Will offered a substitute flat in the same building that was slightly larger, recently renovated, and had a balcony. Given the short notice, we accepted.Once in London, we noticed no signs of repair at the original unit and often heard voices there, suggesting it was occupied. The replacement flat had some drawbacks—it was two floors lower and faced an alley with a lively pub that stayed noisy late into the night. The listing for the original flat had described a quiet space with an elevated view of the Savoy Hotel’s architecture, which we missed. The Wi-Fi also proved unreliable at times.On the positive side, the building’s location was excellent—close to restaurants, shops, and attractions—and the original flat may well be as nice as advertised. However, the last-minute change and noise made our stay less enjoyable than we’d hoped. Future guests might want to confirm availability and noise levels before booking.
