The Cross Hotel

6/10 Okay

"This is a very nice hotel with a nice garden-ish bar in the backyard of the four buildings that together form the entire hotel. The standard of the hotel is actually rather above a regular 3* hotel at an affordable price (for Rome). Nice room, nice breakfast. Of course bit outside, but ideal if coming by car - also having some parking slots within the hotel's backyard (you can't pre-reserve them). However there is a BIG BUT that leads me to only give 3 instead of 5 stars: All rooms facing window-wise the street have LED rings built into the outside frame of the windows that are automatically on from ~23:00 to ~06:00! See pics. Nothing you can do about it and why the heck keeping in on past 24:00?! Looks nice from the outside but how about thinking of the people sleeping in that room?! The blackout curtains do NOT sufficiently block the light as physically the curtains cannot reach the very top of the room, so there the light shines through! This is really stupid and super annoying!! For people that cannot fall asleep well if it isn't really dark, horrible! I bought a sleeping mask, in this case a life saver! Most important thing at a hotel is having a good sleep. Hopefully the hotel reads that and takes measures, otherwise a fantastic hotel."

"Tolles Hotel für Städtereisen. Es liegt zentral und hat alles was man für die Nacht und den Morgen braucht . Das Frühstück ist ausreichend, wird einiges angeboten, man wird definitiv satt . Bis 12 Uhr nachts ist etwas laut ( bei offenem Fenster )da genau gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof, aber hat uns persönlich nicht gestört . Ich würde nochmal in das Hotel gehen."

"Wir waren im Großen und Ganzen mit dem Hotel sehr zufrieden. Es gab leider zu wenig Stauraum. und wir konnten unsere Sachen nicht verstauen. Ein kleiner Schrank für drei Personen ist zu wenig. Es war sehr sauber. Die Fenster haben keinen Lärm hineingelassen, so dass wir ruhig schlafen konnten. Die Klimaanlage hat gut funktioniert. Frühstück hatte alles was es braucht Personal ist sehr freundlich. Wir würden nochmal hinfahren."

Overall, the stay did not justify the price charged per night."

"Gute Lage vom Hotel, wenn man es mal gefunden hat. Eingang neben Graffiti beschmierten Tor mit kleinen ausgedrucktem Hotelschild. Das Haus scheint vor kurzem in 2 verschiedene Hotels umgebaut worden zu sein. Der Eingang selber vom Hotel ist sehr bescheiden, außen und innen. Hotelzimmer und auch Flur auf den Stockwerken sehr schön, wirkt frisch renoviert. Jetzt kommt das ABER. Wohl um Kosten zu sparen, war die Leistung der Klimanlage auf Lüftung reduziert, und auch nur zu bestimmten Uhrzeiten. Das Zimmer hat den ganzen Nachmittag Sonne abgekommen und hat sich entsprechend aufgeheizt. Dadurch war es mit fehlender Lüftung /Aircon unerträglich warm und stickig beim Schlafen. Wir haben direkt am nächsten morgen reklamiert. Da hieß es dann, die Lüftung wäre bewußt so zentral gesteuert. Die Beschwerde würde aber ans Management weitergegeben. Keine Reaktion, auch nach 3 Tagen nicht. Das bestellte 2 Bettzeug kam nicht, obgleich nach Sonderwünschen per Expedia gefragt wurde. Kunden Service sollte anders laufen. Eine Lüftung im Bad/WC fehlte gänzlich. Das angebliche Doppelbett war viel zu klein für 2 normal gewachsene Menschen. Ich bin in 2 Nächsten fast aus dem Bett gefallen. Frühstück gab es in dem Hotel gar nicht. Erstaunlich. Man wurde auf eine Bäckerei verwiesen. Aus dem Hotel könnte man mit besserem Management deutlich mehr machen!"
