I stayed at The Lodge at Torrey Pines during a recent business trip, and it exceeded every expectation. While it’s known for its luxury and scenic location, what truly impressed me was how well it supported a professional stay without sacrificing comfort or character.
The rooms are exceptionally quiet and spacious—ideal for catching up on work in the evenings. The in-room desk setup was functional, and Wi-Fi was consistently fast and reliable, which is crucial when you're juggling Zoom calls and presentations. There are also several elegant common areas where I held informal one-on-one meetings in a relaxed, private setting.
The staff were respectful of my schedule, providing efficient service while ensuring I felt welcome. I appreciated how smoothly check-in/check-out went, and how easy it was to arrange transportation or get local recommendations between meetings.
After work hours, the setting made it easy to unwind. Watching the sun set over the golf course with a glass of wine, or grabbing dinner at A.R. Valentien, was a great way to decompress. The proximity to Torrey Pines State Reserve was an unexpected bonus for a morning jog before the day began.
If you're traveling for business but want an atmosphere that feels calm, elevated, and distinctly Californian, The Lodge at Torrey Pines hits the mark.
