We stayed at the hotel for 12 days as a family with a toddler, and overall, we had a wonderful time. Here’s what we particularly enjoyed:
What we loved:
• The family room was fantastic – well laid out, beautifully furnished, and with very comfortable beds.
• The breakfast was of high quality with a great variety, and even after nearly two weeks, it didn’t feel repetitive.
• The entire resort is beautifully landscaped and green. The pools are lovely and there were always sunbeds available.
• The location is excellent – right on the beach promenade with many restaurants within walking distance. The beach itself was nicer than expected and great for swimming (even though Ko Samui has more famous beaches).
• The indoor kids’ club was a great place for our 2-year-old to play, and we appreciated that it was pleasantly air-conditioned.
• The friendliness of the staff stood out. It’s also worth noting that IHG seems to be an inclusive employer – we saw several team members with disabilities actively working, which we truly appreciated.
What could be improved:
• The hotel’s pricing policy felt exploitative at times. Drink prices were generally overpriced. The “Happy Hour” was especially frustrating – it advertised “Buy 2, get 1 free,” but suddenly a Mojito cost 450 THB instead of 300. Not okay. Also, the airport transfer was overpriced at 600 THB compared to 400 THB with a local taxi.
