This is a great place overall to stay in Kona. Location is good, 5-10 minutes out of downtown Kailua, apartment is comfortable and well stocked, price point is right and Sandra was a very sweet and generous host. If you are the type that likes to hang out at your apartment for long periods of time during the day, I would recommend somewhere else, but as a place to make home base while you go off and explore the island (what I prefer to do), this is ideal. If you like to cook your own meals, the kitchen is a little bit of a challenge owing to its size, but fully workable. We were able to make full egg breakfasts on the hot plate and even stuff like roast fish and potatoes in their little tiny toaster oven. The only things I'd say this spot needs is sharper knives and a few cutting boards.
Thank you Sandra!
