„Amazing stay for me and my partner, 3 days away, beautiful scenery, lovely owners, cannot fault any of the trip. Would highly recommend to anyone. Only 1 hour to snowdon Llanberis path, which we did, so ideal for that too. “

„We had a wonderful stay at the shepards hut. The heating and lights had been put on reasy for our arrival as we were later than the check in time . Carol the owner had messaged me earlier in the day with directions which was a nice welcome. She had also given us a lovely recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. We really enjoyed our stay. “

„Absolutely stunning stay! This place is so peaceful and really allows you to ‘switch off’. The cottage was lovely, very spacious and homely. The only niggle we would have to mention would be the bed which wasn’t very comfortable at all (sorry) and good luck if you’re taller than 5’9! Other than that everything was really lovely and would definitely recommend. We would love to visit again if the bed was replaced for one that was bigger and more comfortable 😊“

„Angie and Charly could not have been more welcoming, The position was spectacular overlooking the valley set in a lovely garden, The rooms very tastefully decorated with large proportions. If in the area again we would definitely stay again.“

„The hotel is situated in a beautiful area. The small village has 1 or 2 dinner possibilities around the market place and is charming - at least the center is. The hotel could use a lick of paint here ant there and you see that the owners do their best, but the castle is very large and surely there is much to do. They have tried to connect modernity and antique, of which I like the latter more. I visited the fitness studio, which was ok. There is a restaurant in the hotel with good food and cool ...

„All in all a great overnight stay. The only thing I found a bit upsetting was someone tied their horse to the gate on concrete and left it there for about 5hours. The horse still had a cart attached and was clearly not happy. No fault of the hotel but perhaps could refuse to serve that patron while the horse is tied there then they wouldn’t do it. “

„Der Sevice war eilweise gut, jenachdem wer Dienst hatte. Das Essen im Restaurant war gut. Der allgemein Zustand des Hauses ist in die Jahre gekommen und es wird scheinbar nichts gemacht. Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig. Wir werden dieses Hotel nicht mehr buchen.“

„Leider super schlechter Service, keine Reinigung zwischen den Tagen, Personal unfähig. Wir mussten beim Auschecken ewig warten, obwohl alles bezahlt war, da die Dame dies nicht fand - man kam sich sehr doof vor. Alles super alt und in die Jahre gekommen, Badtür lässt sich nicht schließen, ….“

„Ich verbrachte eine Nacht im HandHotel. Sehr schöne schicke Eingangshalle mit Bar. Das Zimmer war dann aber sehr einfach. Die Tapete bröselte teils und mein Fenstervorhang lies sich nur notdürftig öffnen. Insgesamt ein dem Zweck dienliches Hotel, aber so richtig gemütlich ist es nicht mehr. Hatte sicher einmal mehr Glanz, heute auf den zweiten Blick etwas veraltet. Das ist ist gut. Personal bemüht und meist freundlich.“

„Great apartment, more of a 1 bedroom house as two floors. Clean, comfortable and well-stocked with everything needed (eg kitchen appliances, cutlery, plates, oven pots and pans). Bar over the road and Spar shop next door for convenience.“

„Stayed overnight following a wedding reception. We received a warm welcome and found the staff very friendly with a focus on providing great customer service. Bedroom was comfortable but appeared to have had an issue with water/damp on one of the walls. Bed was comfortable and bathroom impressive. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. “

„My son and I booked a two nights stay, as we were walking around snowdonia. Claire was a lovely host and very helpful. The room was good and we had our own bathroom and toilet. The breakfast was incredible both mornings too! We will be going back.“

Old but charming Castle Hotel

"The hotel is situated in a beautiful area. The small village has 1 or 2 dinner possibilities around the market place and is charming - at least the center is. The hotel could use a lick of paint here ant there and you see that the owners do their best, but the castle is very large and surely there is much to do. They have tried to connect modernity and antique, of which I like the latter more. I visited the fitness studio, which was ok. There is a restaurant in the hotel with good food and cool beer. Be prepared to meet sheep lingering outside when you walk to your car. When we were there, there were enough parking spaced."
