Enjoy mountain views and soothing river sounds from our eco-friendly, solar-powered 4BR sanctuary on the banks of Fall River (County STR Permit 20-NCD0196). Our 3200 s/f lodge sleeps 8 and offers incredible views of huge mountains through our panoramic great room windows. The park entry is 90 seconds away, so expect frequent elk, deer and bear sightings. Fish in the river, lounge on the deck, or cozy up in front of our fireplace. 3 miles from shops and restaurants, and several hundred feet of private river access.
Real quick -- some house rules:
No early check in or late checkouts. Check in is 4pm or later; check out is 10am or earlier. Absolutely no smoking inside or out; no fire pits; no parties; no pets. 3 cars & 8 guests max. Guests must load/start dishwasher and start a laundry load of towels/hand towels/washcloths at checkout (we have negotiated a lower cleaning fee based on this). Accurate guest count is mandatory and the platform will not otherwise generate a correct price for your date.
Now: onward!
My husband and I dream of the day we'll retire in our magical mountain home, but before we do, we'd like to offer it up to your family to create timeless memories. We hope you experience the same sense of peaceful serenity that we feel when we visit. There is nothing like a late summer BBQ on our deck as the alpenglow dances across the Continental Divide, or falling asleep to the sound of Fall River, or relaxing in front of our fireplace as the snow falls.
Our property has several hundred feet of prime riverfront access, where you can fish or simply just relax. The lower patio and second floor deck (with outdoor dining) offer incredible views of the surrounding mountains, while the second floor great room has beautiful vaulted ceilings with reclaimed wood, a gorgeous rock fireplace, and a cozy study.
BEDROOMS
The home has four bedrooms: a master bedroom on the upper floor with an en-suite bathroom, on the river side of the house. There's a huge sliding door so you can listen to the water as you fall asleep. A second upstairs bedroom with a comfy king mattress is adjacent. Downstairs is two queen bedrooms.
BATHROOMS
We have three full bathrooms with toilets and showers: one is attached to the master bedroom, a second is next to the den in the main floor, and a third is downstairs next to the media room
MEDIA ROOM & DEN
Our media room has comfortable reading chairs, a luxurious sofa, and a huge flatscreen smart TV with a Roku. Bring your own logins and watch whatever you want. The upstairs den has books and games to pass the time.
OUTDOOR LIVING
There's a wonderful outdoor living space on the bank of the river for gatherings and hanging out, plus a lower patio with mountain views and our second floor deck that covers the entire front of the house. You can see mountains for miles from everywhere on our lot.
LAUNDRY & COOKING
Kitchen: Our fully stocked kitchen has everything you'll need to cook an incredible meal, all the while staring at Deer Mountain off the enormous windows. It features a range, a full sized fridge/freezer, a microwave, dishwasher, lots of small appliances, cutlery, dishes, utensils, bowls/pots/pans and virtually anything else you may need or want.
Laundry: There's a laundry room with a washer and a dryer that you are free to use. Please do! I try to keep the detergent stocked but don't guarantee it, so it may be wise to bring a little of your own.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests will have access to our entire property: 4 bedrooms, a media room, a study, a huge great room with vaulted ceilings, a kitchen, our upper level deck and lower level patio, and our lot, which sits on the banks of Fall River, where you can fish if you have a permit.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
No smoking: The home and entire property are designated as no smoking due to high fire danger. If you wish to smoke even outside, this is not a good fit.
Road conditions: Roads in Estes are generally pretty plowed, even in winter, but if there's a huge blizzard, it may not be plowed exactly when you need it to be plowed. We cannot assist if you get stuck and we always recommend that people rent AWD or 4WD when visiting us from October to May. We are at 8,000 feet and this can be a snowy area!
Nonpaying guests: Insurance forbids nonpaying and non-registered guests on property. Exterior security camera present to pick up nonpaying guests and deter parties. One camera is under the deck pointing at the parking area and the other is on the back porch facing west.
Air conditioner: Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows.
Bears: Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area often and can break in!
