We've been to Edinburgh many times, and sadly this was the worst place we have stayed at while there. The staff was an annoyed, unfriendly, unhelpful person, who made us feel unwelcome right away. In our booking I had requested a room that can be reached without stairs, or if some then not many because I am disabled. Despite this they put us on the top floor. When we asked if there was some way of changing this, we got a short no. I had a hard time getting to our room, and once in it there were further disappointments. The light in the hallway was broken, and it was very dark. The promised WiFi didn't reach the room. There were only 2 towels in total, nothing for the hands or as a bath mat, but worst of all, there were bed bugs in the bed. We should have left the place right then and there, but I was too tired from the climb up and it was getting late and so we decided to stick with it. Breakfast was a poor affair, my husband tells me. But the worst was yet to come. Online and on their door it says you can pay with all sorts of cards, but in truth they do not have a card machine there and write down all of your details including your security code.
I cannot recommend this place! We never got an apology from the owner for all that went wrong, instead were made to feel as if it were somehow our fault.
