2-Night Anniversary Stay – Experience
We stayed at Paradise Stream for our anniversary, and unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. Upon entering our room, there was an unpleasant odor—almost like a cat had been living there—and it was clear the space hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. Since we had been traveling for over 2.5 hours and it was already dark outside (watch out for skunks), we didn’t feel like heading back to the front desk to request a room change. Thankfully, I had brought some cleaning supplies from home and ended up cleaning the room myself.
The hot tub was especially concerning. The jets were filthy, and I had to run the tub four times before we felt it was clean enough to use. While parts of the room had been semi-renovated (like the floors, bathroom, and TVs), the furniture and decor felt very outdated.
We didn’t use our private pool at all—it still had tape, a hanging banner, and even a used wine glass in the corner, which was a clear sign the space hadn’t been properly cleaned. The bed was also uncomfortable, and as my husband is 6’5”, he had a hard time getting any real rest.
On a positive note, the breakfast was good—though the same items were served each day. The overall property feels quite dated, and the guest demographic skewed much older. My husband and I are in our late 40s and 50s, and we felt like we were the youngest people there—it gave off a bit of a retirement home vibe.
