We do not live onsite but are available via phone, text or booking app platform to help with questions or issue. We do have family that lives on either side of the house that can help out in emergencies. The house is available for check-in 24 hours a day with a custom door code provided during the booking process.

Tucked away in a quiet cove off the main lake, this peaceful retreat offers privacy, calm water, and a setting many guests say is some of the best fishing on the lake. With a brand-new dock right on the water and inviting outdoor spaces, it’s an easy place to unwind and make lasting memories.

Anglers will feel right at home here. Lake Blackshear is well known for bass, crappie, and catfish, and our location in a sheltered cove makes fishing especially enjoyable - whether you’re casting a line from the dock or heading out by boat. The dock is spacious and thoughtfully set up, making it ideal for both fishing and relaxing, with a sunset swing and slide that guests love.

Inside, the cabin feels warm, welcoming, and comfortably lived-in. Large windows frame beautiful lake views from the living room, filling the space with natural light throughout the day. The home is fully stocked with everything you need, making it easy to cook meals, settle in, and truly relax. With its vintage charm and cozy details, many guests say it feels just like a home away from home.

Cordele, known as the "Watermelon Capital of the World," is a charming small town with easy access to Lake Blackshear, located just a short 10-15 minute drive from town. The area is car-friendly, with most attractions, restaurants, and shops being conveniently located along Highway 280 and surrounding roads.

Around Lake Blackshear, you’ll find scenic roads that wind through wooded areas and along the lake’s shoreline, making driving a pleasant experience. The Georgia Veterans State Park is a key attraction, offering picnic areas, walking trails, and a golf course, all easily reachable by car.

For those with boats, getting around the lake is a breeze, with plenty of marinas and boat ramps available. Whether you’re exploring Cordele or cruising the lake, it’s a relaxed, laid-back area that’s simple to navigate!

- There is no child/animal proofing of the dock or water entrance. You must ensure your child/animals safety while at the property. Please bring your own Coast Guard approved life jackets.
- The dock concrete path is narrow and in extreme wet conditions, the path is muddy. Public boat ramp is within two miles. Please use discretion when using boat ramp.
- No smoking of any kind allowed inside the house or on the property (cigarettes, cigar, weed, vape, candles, etc.)
- Please make sure all guests that will be staying at the property are accounted for on the reservation as no outside visitors are allowed without prior approval.
- Smart TVs are provided, please bring your own log-in information
- Our house is on a scheduled quarterly spray for bugs and insects, but being in S. Georgia on a lake, you may encounter insects, bugs, mice and other wildlife. Please keep doors shut to help keep unwanted critters and bugs out of the cabin
- Minimum Rental age 25, no parties allowed, no refunds for storms, power or utility outages.
- VRBO/DIRECT GUESTS: We ask that you complete a basic guest verification process and select either a $35 damage waiver (non-refundable) or $500 refundable security deposit with a $15 processing fee before your reservation is complete. We are happy to offer refunds, but need to collect a 4% processing fee as we are charged a 4% fee by the card companies.
