Staff were friendly. Building works going on, so not as clean as usual in main hall way. The stairs are wooden, so it was noisy at night when other visitors came in. The doors do not close softly, so this was noisy until midnight. Free parking with plenty of spaces available was very helpful, as parking in the area is residential. Room was compact (as advised in advert) but limited hanging space. Tea, coffee, milk and loo paper not replenished daily. Fridge was at ground level and hard to open at base of bed. TV did not work. Radiator heating could not be turned down, or off, so room very hot requiring window left open (so noise pollution as near to student accommodation) Bathroom tap kept coming off. The bathroom needs a new towel radiator or hanging rail that is off the ground for the large towels - these had to be hung over the shower and there was no hanging hook in the bathroom for clothing, only a windowsill. Though the window was frosted, it did need a blind for privacy as the room is overlooked and visible when light on at night. Hoping this constructive feedback helps the hotel to improve the room.

On the positive side : The bed was comfy, the heating worked, the shower worked. On the down side: Access to the hotel parking was not stated so we parked next door and were told we had to go around to the back of the building. The signs were not seen as it was dark and we ended up parking in a place we should not have. Check before you go if thinking of using. Getting access was odd and not as described in the site details on Hotel.com or on the message sent to me. Not complicated but I was not given a code and told we would be let in by the caretaker. Then told about payment. ONLY BANK TRANSFER OR CASH. Luckily I (just) had enough cash. Had to give this to "the caretaker". Codes given to us but no check that we had parked correctly. Room we were in (1) was not as shown in the Hotel.com picture. It was OK but not well decorated, Not good if we wanted to stay longer. Had to put a lot of things on the floor as nowhere to put them. Television did not work very well (bandwidth issue?) but we did not use it much. Nowhere to put anything in the shower and loo room. Not even towels. Kettle and electrical items fed off 13amp extension cables. Not sure about H+S ! We had a night sleep for not a lot of money but will not use again and will maybe pay a bit more for something more reliably better next time. Your choice, but investigate all reviews. Some are from older hotel (offering breakfast etc!) Not sure how this is a 4 star hotel!!! .
