With its friendly neighbors, cozy restaurants, and tree lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charleston’s classic charm. This house is perfect for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Porchetta Shop, Southbound, R Kitchen, Chubby Fish and many more! Our guests and neighbors also rave about Welton's Tiny Bakeshop and Kudu Coffee. We recommend going to either for a cup of locally-roasted coffee or their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops – including antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques – as well as endless buzzing restaurants and bars.

Getting Around:
You can walk almost everywhere - but should you want to rest your feet, there are many other options for getting around: Uber, Lyft, Charleston Bike Taxi, Charleston Rickshaw, Green Taxi or Yellow Cab.

Great location

We had a wonderful time. The location is within a 10 min walk to King Street. Great places to eat and fun bars are so close! Wonderful communication with the host. The place was clean and stocked with all that was needed! There was the cutest patio area to hang out on after a long day! Can't wait for out next visit!

Property is in a great location, had ample room and was clean. We found housewares to be lacking for 6 people (only 2 water glasses and 3 wine glasses). Closets were difficult to use because they were filled with storage items. Parking was very misleading; 12 blocks away from property--difficult for elderly people.

Terrific location and VRBO

We loved our stay. We were upstairs. Parking spot for upstairs unit is a 10 minute walk away. VRBO is so conveniently located in Charleston. Clean and comfortable for 6. Great restaurants and shops along King Street are 2 streets away. I would suggest you start at the visitor center with a city bus tour. That way you learn the lay of the land. The Charleston Museum is excellent as are the 2 houses associated with the museum. We ate at The Swamp Fox, Leon’s, Bar Taco, The Market at Meeting, Toast All Day, The Bodega. I recommend them all!

We were very happy with our stay at this property. The location was 1 block away from my daughter so we were able to have quality time to visit. Downtown was a beautiful walk and we found great coffee and lunch spots nearby.

Lovely

The property was nice and clean and conveniently located to King Street. The reserved parking spaces for unit B are a 15 minute walk from the property. Also, the road flooded twice while we were at the property due to heavy rainfall within a short time. We were on King Street and were unable to return to the property until the water receded after the rain stopped. It took about an hour after the rain stopped for the water to recede and safely return to the property. The property is beautiful and very nice; the parking and flooding were inconvenient for us.

The apartment was spacious, clean, walking distance to King St and the farmers market. The host was very responsive when we had a question during our stay. There was adequate seating both at the dining table and to watch TV (this was important to us - a lot of the other accommodations we looked at did not have enough seating). It looks like the listing has since been updated to make this clear, but we were surprised that the included parking spots were a 10-minute walk away from the house. Yes, the individual parking spots are labeled, but not the lot so it threw us for a loop when we first tried to park (it looks as if you are headed down someone else's private driveway). Given the neighborhood, we were expecting there would be some late-night noise but were still a bit surprised how clearly the noise traveled; at some points it sounded as if the windows must be open but none were.

I visited the Downtown Charmer for 3 nights with a few friends. Our stay was seamless from an easy early check in, parking, location, and cleanliness. As we left we discussed if we ever came back to Charleston we would want to stay at this same spot again!

Property was very nice..we enjoyed our stay very much!! Pay attention to signs if you decide to park on street...we got towed because of "street sweeping" and didnt see a sign until it was too late..use the parking spaces they provide... people partying around property until after 2am and they were quite loud... very nice property though!!!

I loved the place and the location. Extremely clean and updated. Only issue I had is that the parking for the upper flat is about a half a mile away. Not a problem in good weather but if it were bad weather it could have been an issue.

Beautiful, sparkling home

This home is exactly as represented, modern, bright, sparkling clean and perfect for our girls weekend with my (adult) daughter and a friend. Thoughtfully stocked w/ what we needed and just a lovely space. The only downside is parking a few blocks away - we were not totally comfortable walking back later in the evening alone so always had more than one person. There were parties around us Fri and Sat nights but all shut down around midnight and no big deal - it's a city! Easy walk to King Street and a lovely, interesting neighborhood. Being a block from Holey City Bagels a real plus!

Good location and very clean!

There were 3 three couples that stayed and it was really nice for each of us to have a dedicated bathrooms and a table that we could all eat at. The smaller bedroom with the ensuite is tight. We did not realize that there was a small closet behind the mirror until the end of our stay. It is not obvious there is a closet. The parking 4 blocks away is a bit annoying but not terrible. We could find street parking on the same block for loading and unloading.
