A short walk from King St. 'The Nantucket' is a spacious private historic property. Rare downtown amenities include fabulous shared Spring Island Collection Pool, right across the street! The property offers a bright & open kitchen & living area, along with traditional southern piazza. Plenty of space for guests to relax. Property amenities also include parking, dog run, and lush landscaping.

The Space:
The Nantucket is a completely restored unit on the second floor of a historic Charleston home across the street from the Spring Islands resort-style pool. Relax with the added privacy and quiet of the top floor. Spacious rooms, beds, and a living room make The Nantucket the perfect place to rest while enjoying your vacation. The private traditional porch allows guests to experience the city and Charleston charm from the comfort of their own elevated retreat.

The Nantucket can accommodate up to 8 guests in 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a kitchen, and a spacious living room.

Guest Access:
Each unit is equipped with coded locks that are changed regularly. You will receive all important check-in information 3 days prior to arrival.

Early check-in or late check-out requests are evaluated and granted on a case-by-case basis. We offer a luggage storage space with a coded lock near the pool for all Spring Islands guests to use as needed. We welcome guests to use the pool while they await their check-in.

Refresh and relax at the Jr. Olympic pool complete with pool-side cabanas or savor the onsite eateries offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and trendy cocktails. Guests can also enjoy an indoor gym and fitness studio with daily classes, a recovery room full of spa therapies, private and shared workspaces, live music, and an active calendar of social events.

Once you confirm your reservation at The Wonderer, you will receive a link to book your time to visit the campus. Please note, all fitness classes and ticketed events are offered based on availability and may come at an additional cost.

While theft is rare Charleston is a city and we encourage guests to ensure their cars are locked and all valuables have been removed.

Town & Island Co. welcomes all our furry companions. There is a $75 non refundable pet fee. You are responsible to inform us you are traveling with your pet(s), so we can add this charge to your booking. Please note: If upon check out, we see evidence of an unregistered pet, the $75 pet fee will be taken out of your SD authorization hold.

*Severe Weather Policy*

Our severe weather and Extenuating Circumstances: Hurricane Policy is as follows:

If a Mandatory Evacuation Order is issued by the Governor of SC specifically for the county in which your property is located for the dates of your stay, the extenuating circumstances policy will be in effect. In this case we WILL refund any deposits or payments paid by the guest and we shall have no additional liability concerning the reservation.

However, if a Mandatory Evacuation Order is NOT issued by the Governor of SC, then the standard cancellation policy will still apply and no refund will be issued. This is the case even if the guest chooses to cancel or travel is disrupted due to the storm.

Additionally, if there is adverse weather phenomenon outside of Charleston or SC (ie. other regions of the US or abroad) during the dates of the guests' stay which hinders the guests from traveling to the property, the standard cancellation policy will still apply. Therefore, a refund will NOT be issued.

***ATTENTION***
Hurricane season is during the months of June-November. During this time we HIGHLY recommend guests research and purchase travel insurance.

Cute place

Lots of stairs to get up into apt. Also door lock was confusing, I never got a notice of who the manager was on duty the week of our stay as was described. Rug in living room very scratchy- had to wear shoes. EVERYTHING else was amazing! Beds and linens were wonderful. Enjoyed this place very much!

Nice property, very clean and communicative. I do feel the cost with all the fees made the daily rate a bit high, but comparable to all the other listings in the area, so just how VRBO listings run these days! The location was very good we were within 10-15 minute drives to most of what we wanted to do. Unlike other VRBOs we have stayed in recently there were pool towels, soap, dishwasher and detergent pods which helped avoid having to make immediate grocery store trips and was very much appreciated.

Home away from home for hospital stay

We rented the apartment for my sisters family so they could be near her, during a hospital stay. They said the location was perfect. They could pop in and visit her at MUSC several times a day without having to park. Highly recommend.

Great place for a group getaway

We recently went to Charleston for a getaway. My partner and I were looking for a place where we could bring our Labrador Retriever with us and had enough room so that my sister and nephews could join us. We searched a number of properties but this one stood out to us and believe me when I say it did not disappoint. There was plenty of room for all of us to hang out and enjoy all Charleston has to offer. It’s walking distance to shopping and the restaurants and bars. There are really nice little cafes nearby to grab a coffee in the morning to get ready for the day and a ton of delivery options if you just want to stay in for an evening. The property is really nice and well maintained. They have a pool if you just want to relax and they’ve built a small “dog park” on the property that made it convenient to take our dog out and let him run around. The communication with the management company was fantastic and the check-in/check-out process super easy. If you’re going to Charleston and it’s just you or you and a group (including your animal friends!)…do yourself a favor and stay at this property. We will most definitely be returning for a future visit to Charleston.

Family Reunion

We visited the property with family (8 people). The kitchen and living area are connected and a relatively large area. A great place for hang out and spend time together. We cooked and found all the utensils and appliances we needed and more than adequate. The bedrooms and a couple of bathrooms were a bit small but comfortable. The beds were all very comfortable. The pullout couch was quick to set up/put away and was probably the most comfortable we have ever used. Overall a great place!!

Nice but inaccurate listing

Pool off property and shared between a number of different units which was deceiving given the cover photo that was used for the listing was the pool, giving the impression it was private to our listing’s use. When the pull out couch was opened, there were numerous cooked ramen noodles all over it. The bathroom did not offer enough toilet paper for a house that fits 8 guests. In fact, we ran completely out of toilet paper by day 2. There were also not enough towels simply for showering. In fact, we were supplied only with 5 bath towels- for a house that sleeps 8. We asked for more towels and we’re given only two more. We had to wash at least 2 loads a day of towels daily. There was mold in the corner of the main bathroom shower. Very filthy and hazardous to guests health. We had two physicians stating in the Air B and B as part of our party who expressed concerns regarding this. The space of the house was much smaller than expected than the photos led on. We were pretty disappointed in our stay to say the very least.

Awesome!

Fantastic! Place was fabulous and well equipped for a group. I have to commend the property manager for getting maintenance out so quickly to fix the a/c. The parking is tight tight tight, but they allowed us to park our 2nd car in the spot for an empty unit. Would 100% come back and rent this unit again. My only thing is that you may want to check the door locks and make sure the door actually locks. We were told surprised at 2:00 am our first night by strangers walking up the stairs but they were in the wrong unit. We were told to press # on the keypad with the door code to lock/unlock the door but there was no # symbol on the door keypad for our unit and just pressing the code would not lock the door, we had to lock it manually from the inside every time. Our downstairs neighbors had the same issue with their door. Overall a great experience once we figured out the door lock.

Convenient, cute and clean!

Our family came down for the weekend for a baseball tournament with boys and dogs in tow. The property facilities are user friendly and are easy access to the downtown areas of Charleston. We enjoyed the pool and the dog park, which is a huge plus when travelling with the pups into an unfamiliar city. We can't wait to come back next year!
