Horrible experience! My family and I drove from Virginia expecting a great family getaway. Upon arriving, we immediately smelled a strong mold and mildew smell in the home. It was so bad that my family and I started to get headache. We inspected the home and saw water stains in the ceiling and black mold dots in the AC vents of master bedroom. We then find the owners Mercedes’ Benz parked in the garage with the hood open with a cable attached. Very unsafe to safe for small children while having other items in garage as a rents. When we immediately contacted the property manger, they stated someone would arrive the next day. When the maintenance showed up, we showed him the water leak and mold in vents and he took pictures to show the owner. I would not allow my family to stay in an unhealthy environment for another day and had to book another property just to get out the mold and mildew in that entire house. What made it work even worse was the lack of care from my the owner. Once settled into the new home, I had to call the property Manager again just to see if they would do anything about the smell and water stains. The owner stated that they had just been there a week ago and did not smell any mold at that time and did not want to pay for someone to come out and test for it. Imagine a family who would have not had the money to book another house and had to stay in this horrible mold infested house. The owner showed no empathy or even a concern to really look into the matter, even after we took pictures and showed the issues. I have never experienced such unpleasant experience such as this after all of the many vacation homes we have rented. Take it from me and do not let the pictures fool you and get stuck in a house that you can’t breathe in because of the mildew smell. I’m so thankful that my family was financially stable to get another home but can’t imagine for families stuck in this situation and the owner not care at all and still take your money. Worst experience ever!
