Newly Renovated corner lot duplex ready to be your home away from home! Only steps away from the beach and a private back yard you and your family will enjoy spending time together in roasting marshmallows over the fire pit or grilling on the grill. Retro diner-style kitchen has counter seating for 8, bistro table seating for 2 and a window seat for you to relax and enjoy a nice cup of coffee! New Keurig, fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave and milkshake machine. Serving dishes, meal prep equipment, bakeware and cookware provided.
New clothes washer and dryer, iron and board, are in laundry behind glass Pantry pocket door. Powder room on ground floor, and pantry stocked with housekeeping supplies. Beach chairs, umbrella and sand buckets provided! Outdoor shower (hot and cold) located in the back yard.
Second floor has two bedrooms, each with a king bed and new, high quality mattresses. The front bedroom features a door with working transom, window seat, two full size built-in storage closets, and a private tiled bathroom (tub-shower, vanity, toilet). The back bedroom features a door with working transom, recliner with Bay views, built-in storage closet, and a private tiled bathroom (tub-shower, vanity, toilet). Both bedroom access a well lit library stocked with a wide variety of authors and board games. A two-rope handrail staircase leads to the “shipboard” loft where there are four twin beds with pull out drawer storage, a TV/reading nook and a tiled bathroom (shower, sink, toilet).
Off-street parking for a golf cart, and plenty of on-street parking on Monroe and Harbor. Bed linens, bath towels, hand towels, kitchen towels and are included in the rental fee.
Guest Access: We offer convenient door codes for self-check-in. Chesapeake Properties by Portoro uses convenient keyless entry for self check-in, details provided 2 weeks (or less) prior to arrival by email and text message.
• Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. The house looks great in the photos, but it’s even better in person. The ceilings are really high and the porch is fantastic. We loved seeing photos from the renovation in the guest book. It was a great setup for our group, which was two couples with four kids. The convenience of being a block from the beach and having an outdoor shower and back porch for beach gear storage is unmatched. There were several, mostly minor, maintenance issues that should be addressed — for example, a lot of bugs get into the house, probably because the doors and windows are old and some not well sealed. The property management did come and spray while we were there which seemed to help a little, but I’d suggest addressing the gaps where bugs are getting in. The vacuum provided had a dead battery, which management checked but didn’t resolve during our stay. (We were given a broom.) And several of the door handles/latches in the bedrooms don’t turn or close properly. Overall, though, we were very happy with our stay.

The property is in a nice location. We did have a couple problems with the house. The walls between the duplex are very thin. Expect to hear noise from the neighbors. Also the upstairs shower leaked steadily thru the floor into the kitchen downstairs. The host was very nice and easy to work with.

We loved that the house was 2 houses away from the beach. Hose was clean. House is fabulous! Fire pit and grill were not cleaned out by previous guests. We only used the grill and my husband cleaned it before and after. All 3 couples had a fabulous time. No pics of the 3rd bedroom -we were kind of sad to find 4 single beds. Only recommendation is to beef up the kitchen utensils and containers.

My family absolutely loved our stay at Elvamae. The location of this house was perfect! My family was able to easily get two babies to the beach and walk or ride a golf cart into town. The location of this house was our favorite perk! The house itself was super nice! We thought one of the best parts about the house was that each bedroom had a full bathroom. The beds were also super comfortable! Only con to the house is that we didn’t feel the cleaners did a great job cleaning the house. I would stay at this house again! I give it a 9/10 because of the cleaners.

Best place in the world. In crowded, pristine beach one block away, quiet sidewalks and streets for bicycling, free evening concerts in the park, walkable downtown with interesting shops, good restaurants and a tasteful, comfortable place to stay. What’s not to like????

We loved the location and the upgrades to the inside of the house.
As you know attention to detail in cleaning was absent, Grill especially. But lamp in living room by door had so many cobwebs we had to clean it in fear it would catch on fire.
The broken window and the screen in front bedroom against the wall are a few examples.
I will say the 4 of us loved the house overall and the front porch. The outside needs some work, rotten wood, etc.
one area of concern for all 4 of us was the lack of comfort that we were safe, the front and back doors did not seem secure at all.

Another perfect week
Fantastic week in Cape Charles! The property had everything we could possibly need and more. We cooked at home each night and the kitchen was perfectly appointed. It’s all the extra touches that the owners thought through that made our week so wonderful. They provided beach chairs and towels, wood for the fire pit, gas grill, cleaning supplies, and even citronella candles and solar lights for porch sitting! The home is furnished and decorated so tastefully with comfortable beds and nice linens. We are so grateful to have had this time away to regroup and relax in a wonderful home. We've been coming to the beach for several years and have never seen this level of attention and care from the owners - from the welcome basket of goodies to the homemade lemon cake and fresh fruit! These two are amazing!
And then there's the house! The house is fully stocked with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Our kids' favorite parts of the house were the upstairs "clubhouse" and the "secret library." The two master suites on the second floor were perfect for the adults. This is by far best rental in Cape Charles! We didn't want to leave, and we're already planning our trip back next summer. Thanks for an amazing week!

Perfection
This house was absolutely perfect. It had everything we needed for 4 adults and 4 kids and the 3rd floor loft was the best sleeping / hang out spot for the kids. The house was beautiful, well equipped and clean and Darin was extremely helpful. We loved sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch every morning and evening. The location could not have been better, just a few houses from the beach and you could easily walk to the park or into town. We will definitely be coming back!

This is the Best Spot in Cape Charles!
This was our 2nd Summer staying at 9/11 Monroe. Both sides of the property are perfect and make a family vacation extremel enjoyable. Our children love every aspect of the home, including the Kid's loft on the 3rd floor, the outdoor shower, and the toys to play on the beach.
Every aspect and detail of the house are truly amazing.
The addition of the Milkshake Machine (Commercial Quality) made Dad happy, as he saved several dollars on our routine trips to Brown Dog and Kool Eatz.
We will definitely be back next summer

Suzanne And Darin were just amazing ! Their Rental was more than perfect !! They were so accommodating and went above and beyond to make their rental perfect ! We were all so happy with our choice and will return next summer ! We are already excited to book again !

Best Cape Charles Rental, Hands Down!
We just returned from a family reunion week in CC with 48 family members in town for a week. This house was absolutely perfect for our family of 5! The owners have thought of EVERYTHING! This house is a duplex, located about 4 houses from the beach on a quiet street. The house has a large fenced in backyard with an outdoor shower, firepit & adirondack chairs, grill, outdoor outlet to charge the golf cart, hooks for wet towels. The owners provided 7 beach chairs and 8 beach towels & even wood for the firepit so we could make smores one night. The front of the house has a great porch complete with rocking chairs and cushions for a long evening of visiting with family and watching the world go by. The owners gutted this house, redesigned it and did all the construction themselves, so no detail went unattended! The interior decorating is super creative and cohesive. So many rentals feel like a second hand thrift shop, not this one! The furniture and decorations were all coordinated, new, comfortable and appropriate! Our kids LOVED having the 3rd floor to themselves, complete with a full bath, a nook with a TV and reading area and four beds with storage for their clothes and such. We loved the comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, library with titles appropriate for a good beach read. The kitchen had everything I needed to make a few nice meals at home. The outdoor grill was a great option too. The owners were super responsive to my questions and went out of their way to make sure all of us felt welcomed and at home. So many personal touches have made this a vacation to remember! I will never rent anywhere else in Cape Charles if I can help it. Thanks for making our July 4th week so special.
