Welcome to The Bear’s Lair, where fresh mountain air replaces notifications, and the only deadlines involve marshmallow roasting. Nestled in the woods of Berkeley Springs, WV, this multi-level cabin is your perfect escape—just 10 minutes from downtown’s quirky boutiques, 11 minutes from Cacapon State Park, and 44 minutes from Whitetail Resort for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing.

The main level is designed for effortless relaxation. The fully stocked kitchen makes meal prep a breeze, whether you're flipping pancakes or mixing up après-ski cocktails. The cozy living room, with its oversized sectional, crackling woodstove, and TV, is perfect for movie nights or mid-day naps. Two queen bedrooms share a full bathroom with a shower and soaking tub, accessible from both the hallway and a bedroom (because convenience is key).

Upstairs, retreat to the king-size ensuite, complete with a reading nook for peaceful mornings. The loft space is great for puzzles, crafts, or remote work, featuring a play couch and futon that transforms into a double bed. The shared upstairs bathroom has dual access, making life just a little easier.

The basement? It’s all about fun. No bathroom down here, but who cares when you have shuffleboard, arcade games, foosball, and a mountain of board games? There’s also a bonus TV lounge with a small futon, plus a bedroom with two twin beds for extra guests.

Traveling with little cubs? We’ve got you covered with a portable crib, baby bathtub, high chair, booster seat, baby gates, step stool, and potty seat—because a happy kid means a happy vacation.

Step outside and let the adventure begin! Unwind in the outdoor sauna, gather around the fire pit, or test your skills with the axe-throwing set. The wood-fired hot tub (instructions provided) is the ultimate way to soak under the stars. Dine outside at the picnic table, fire up the BBQ grill, or lounge in the screened porch, where the only interruptions are birdsong and the occasional deer sighting.

As a guest, you’ll also have access to Coolfont Mountainside Association’s pool, hot tub, tennis, and basketball courts, plus nearby hiking trails. Over at Cacapon State Park, explore a nature center, playground, scenic trails, and a sandy beach (cash only for admission).

Other things to note: The wood-fired hot tub on the premises has been thoroughly cleaned and is ready for use. Please note, due to its natural surroundings, some leaves, twigs, and forest debris may have accumulated under the cover.
