„The most incredible hotel in Taormina. I have stayed in the other two and the Palazzo Vecchio is by far the best. It is situated beautifully above and set back from the main promenade and has the finest rooftop terrace I have experienced. The staff - especially the restaurant were wonderfully accommodating. Our room was gorgeous, large and incredibly well-furnished. Bravo!“

„Wir hatten hier eine Nacht gebucht, nachdem wir eine sehr schlechte Erfahrung mit einer privaten Unterkunft hatten und dringend etwas Komfort benötigten ;-) Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Zwar gibt es in der näheren Umgebung außer eben Golf und der nahe gelegenen Alcantara Schlucht nicht viel sehens-/erlebenswertes, aber wir hatten gutes Timing mit dem Wetter und konnten bei Dunkelheit den zurzeit aktiven Ätna bestaunen, das war es für uns wert. „Das Hotel hat eine grandiose Aussicht bis nach Taormina, auf den Stretto und das italienische Festland. Das Frühstücksbuffet war toll, das Zimmer geräumig. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. “

Bei den 5 Sternen muss man wohl die Landeskriterien mit berücksichtigen (Zimmer haben beispielsweise keine Sitzgelegenheiten, beim Frühstücksbuffet muss man bei der einzigen Kaffeemaschine für 100 Personen ein wenig Geduld mitbringen). Essen oder Trinken von außerhalb mitbringen ist lt. Schild am Eingang nicht erlaubt (wir haben uns nicht dran gehalten). Das Wichtigste jedoch: Zimmer sind sehr sauber und das Personal ist sehr freundlich.“
