Whitehaven (2.5 miles) is a must-visit destination on the Cumbrian coast, featuring a pet-friendly pebble beach, a bustling harbour and the fascinating Beacon Museum. From high atop the sandstone clifftops, gaze out across Saltom Bay as you hike towards the charming village of St Bees (8 miles), another tranquil stop along this beautiful stretch of coastline. Adventures continue inland as you begin to explore the Lake District National Park, approximately 8.5 miles away. Visit Cockermouth (12 miles), a fantastic gateway town for Lakeland excursions, or head to Keswick (25 miles), widely regarded as the adventure capital of the National Park. Crummock Water (13.5 miles) and Grasmoor (14 miles) offer excellent opportunities for hiking and wildlife spotting, as does Whinlatter Forest (16 miles).

Each room in this characterful two-storey property showcases its own unique charm, with feature walls, painted beams and eclectic décor throughout. Step inside, leaving coats and boots in the entrance, and make your way into the central dining room. This inviting space features exposed stone walls, a wood burner and ample seating for sociable mealtimes or board game evenings. Leading off from here are the kitchen and lounge. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, serving as a hub of family life, with a large utility room and laundry facilities just beyond. Next door, the lounge offers an attractive retreat with antique-style sofas, a second cosy wood burner and a Smart TV. Returning through the kitchen, a hallway leads to the first three bedrooms. Two are located on the ground floor – a king-size and a double – while the third, a king-size, sits up a short flight of stairs and benefits from an en-suite. To access the remaining three bedrooms, return to the dining room and climb the main staircase to the first floor. Two family bathrooms are split across the property: a wet-room-style shower room downstairs and a family bathroom serving the first-floor bedrooms.
