Brand new for summer 2021, Simply Scandi is perfect for those looking for a coastal getaway. Whether it’s a solo adventure, a romantic retreat or a staycation with a friend, this stunning property will not disappoint.



The Space:

Simply Scandi has an open plan kitchen, living and dining area. Minimal in style, the room features a neutral colour scheme and subtly layered textures. The stunning acoustic wood feature wall is the focal point adding structure and clean lines. Perfect for relaxing, the living area has a comfortable sofa, a linen armchair and a flat screen TV.



Fully equipped with modern appliances, the kitchen boasts a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, oven, hob, toaster, kettle, microwave and refrigerator. There is even a coffee machine so you can start your day with a delicious coffee every morning. The dining area includes a marble style table and metal wire dining chairs.



The Scandi style flows through to the bedroom. Here you’ll find the same acoustic wood panelling surrounding the king size bed to create a modern yet cosy feel. Bedside wall lamps, minimalist style bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a line art illustration complete the look. The en-suite bathroom boasts a walk in shower, WC and basin, all complete with matte black hardware.



Golden Lion Apartments is home to three separate apartments with a maximum capacity of 8. If you are looking for a stay for a group, there are often opportunities to rent all three apartments together. Please send us an email with your preferred dates for availability and prices.



Home Truths:

- The apartment is located in the centre of Whitby and is therefore subjected to seagulls noise.

- The apartment is opposite a pub and there can be noise, especially on the weekends.

- The building has a number of floors and the stairs can be tight. Please note Simply Scandi is located on the first floor. The apartment therefore may not be suitable for those less physically able.



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the full apartment.



The keys to Simply Scandi are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.



We provide a parking scratch card for your stay which gives you free parking in the W zones.



The Neighborhood:

Golden Lion Apartments are located in Whitby town centre so you’ll be perfectly situated to explore the many restaurants, cafes and shops on the doorstep.



Nestled on the West Cliff, you’ll find fun arcades and you’ll be able to sample the catch of the day in one of Whitby’s famous fish restaurants which line Pier Road. The Blue Flag West Cliff beach and promenade is just a short 5-minute walk from the property so you can really make the most of your coastal escape.



The other side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques and pubs. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.



Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.



Getting Around:

Golden Lion Apartments are located in the centre of Whitby so the town can easily be explored on foot.



Whitby train station is just a short 5-minute walk away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.



There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
