Upon arrival, there was a black trash bag in the middle of the room filled with towels and sheets. After several attempts at getting in touch with someone to ask why there was a bag of dirty linens in the cottage, I was assured by someone at getaway that those were the clean linens. I proceeded to open the bag to put the sheets on the bed only to find out that they were clearly soiled linens, GROSS. I attempted to reach the office again and called the owners number that was listed on the fridge, the owners number went to voicemail and the office was not answering, so I proceeded to start to wash the linens. I finally received a call back stating they were bringing the clean linens, which they did. On the surface, the place looked pretty clean, but it was clear that the cleaning service does not do a deep clean on this property, lots of crumbs and dust near couch, behind furniture. The AC unit was not blowing out cool air, so I took the filter out and it was caked with dust/debris, so I cleaned it. The space is cute, but very tight, and aside from one small closet there is nowhere to unpack your belongings (no dressers, etc). I’ve stayed at other places on this property that were less in cost, cleaner, and utilized the space better. I think the main concerns are the services the owner uses to prepare for guests, not the owner themselves, so the issues could be fixed. The worst part was there were no real apologies for all the headaches.
