Welcome to Hunchback Mountain Hideaway! This house has been rebuilt from the foundation up in the last 5 years, so it's practically brand new, but with the footprint of it's original 1940s cabin, it still feels nostalgic. If you look out the back door, you get a great view of Hunchback Mountain.
My husband and I are an adventurous couple who like to be on the go, but when we’re here, we find ourselves in relaxation mode. We bought this house a gathering spot for our family and all of our outdoor activities. We love being here so much that we want to share our space with others.
With two queen bedrooms, a bunk room, and two queen pullout sofas, there’s room for everyone. An open layout is perfect for gathering with everyone. Enjoy the fire pit, soak up the sun, or play in the snow in the fully fenced backyard. After your daily adventures on the trails, spend time watching movies, playing board games, cooking, or reading by the gas fireplace.
There is so much to do in Welches and beyond - from fishing, golfing, hiking, and mountain biking in the summer to skiing, snowboarding, sledding, and snowshoeing in the winter, Welches gives you access to it all! We are about 15 minutes from Ski Bowl and about 20 to Timberline.
Our house is also located just 1/2 mile from the Mt. Hood Express shuttle service that makes runs all day long from Welches to Ski Bowl/Government Camp and Timberline - why drive and deal with the hassle of parking when you can ride up there with your gear. They've got ski boxes in winter and a bike trailer in summer for your gear.
