„Good stay. Unfortunately it was during a storm but we made the most of it. Beautiful views and handy to other sights in the Waipoua forest. We did have some trouble with the oven and did not get communication for remedy. We did however find instruction manuals which aided us. Overall good experience and accommodation.“

„It’s a run down bach! The pictures look great but unfortunately the accommodation is not! Not only the garden needs to take care of. The bathroom especially the shower is moldy. The top of the fridge was super sticky. It might be a good backpacking accommodation but not the one we expected looking at the pics. We decided not to stay there and left the place. „Overall, loved it. Bathroom was A1 but we saw teeth flossers and a few things laying on the ground. Plus we did not use the BBQ because it needed a good clean. Could have used an extra plate or two.The cabin was very clean and the location was quiet and secluded. Despite a couple of minor things, I would stay here again. Never saw the owner, or anyone else actually.“

„My daughter and I loved staying in this accomodation with a beautiful view of the dunes right across the road. Beautiful sunsets and just a few steps away to the waters edge and beautiful beach. This place had everything we needed with some amazing places to visit.“

It felt so homely and had everything we needed. the Bach is walking distance to the beach and so many things to explore. it even has a vehicle entrance and miles of drivable beach during low tide. Thanks to Barb and Graham for letting us stay at their lovely bach and we will surely be back.“

„I drove straight passed the Road as there was no Rd sign. I could only identify it because I usedMy Maps app and had a similar experience in Thames several months ago. I found the toaster had not been cleaned if crumbs and feel that the sealant at the bottom of the shower door look grimy and should be replaced. Otherwise I slept well and everything went like clockwork“

„As advertised, this is a nice big property in a terrific location that is very run down. If space and location are important, then it's a terrific place to stay. We had a lovely holiday here with children and their grandparents. The kitchen is very well equipped.“

„Perfect property for a large family birthday celebration, this is a very well set up home and has the most beautiful views out to the harbour and sand dunes , the weather was perfect and the deck was well used over the entire stay!We had a lovely weekend away together and highly recommend this property for the home and the location. “

„Wonderful location. The Ngawha hot pools were amazing. The house is a home away from home. Very cosy and lovely laid out space. Has everything you need. Only negative comment is house was tidy but could do with a deep clean. Would stay here again. And recommend for families.“

„Ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Aber war zweckdienlich (Cape Reinga). Kaitaia ist abends/Nacht nicht so save, wie der Rest von NZ. Wifi war sehr schlecht. Genügend Parkplätze vorhanden. Haartrockner hat leider gefehlt.“

Good hotel choice in Orewa

"Overall good hotel right at the water. We had a room without sea view, quiet with parking directly in front of the room. Bed was super comfy, however the room could've had a little more thought put into it. There were no electrical outlets next to the bed, plus the switch for the night stand lights could not be reached when lying in bed. The windows could not be closed, so we had bugs inside. The bathroom did not have a fan to expel the moist air, which causes problems on the ceiling. In addition to that, the joints in the shower could use some extended cleaning or replacement. Overall good (8/10) but some room for improvement."
